Review titled Caring and kind staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Kate - Posted on 19 September 2024
We had to go to children’s A&E and were admitted to Safari ward. All the staff we met whilst we were there were wonderful. The play team were brilliant and kept our son entertained and happy, one of the ladies even came to see us when we were on the ward and was so helpful. We did not have one negative experience with any staff we met. Every nurse and doctor explained everything to us clearly and fully and were very supportive and understanding. Overall, given the circumstances, we had a really positive experience and we are so grateful that both the Safari Ward and children’s A&E were so supportive. Thank you all.

We are so pleased to hear of your positive experience when having to attend the children’s emergency department. The play team are new to ED so it is greatly reassuring to hear what a positive difference they can make to our patients experience. We hope your child is feeling much better. Kind regards, Jenna Jenna Lloyd Senior Sister (Ward Manager) Paediatric Emergency Department

Review titled Word Salad and ugly bedside manner
Rated 1 star out of 5

I recently had a gynecological issue that required urgent attention. While the A&E staff were excellent, I found the response from the gynecology team to be somewhat disappointing. There seemed to be a delay in their involvement, which unfortunately extended my stay in the hospital. I understand that medical professionals are busy, but clear and concise communication about treatment plans would be beneficial. Additionally, the ability to answer patient questions with confidence is essential. Overall, while I appreciate the efforts of the medical staff, I believe there is room for improvement in terms of patient care and communication within the gynecology department.

Review titled Extremely Rude Staff
Rated 1 star out of 5

I went to the hospital as I had all pregancy symptoms and after 6th week I start bleeding heavily. The emergency nurse was extremely rude and didn’t spend anytime listening time. She had zero empathy, gave no medicine. And I still have no answers to what happened. It’s still happening but she just didn’t help me.

Unprofessional attitude/ rudeness does not reflect on our department and the trust values. Rudeness of staff to patients is taken very seriously in the department. I have there sent a generic message reminding all staff of remaining professional and having empathy at all times. I am sorry the patient felt not been treated with empathy. Thank you. Review titled Horrific experience
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Wendy - Posted on 05 August 2024
I would like to share my feedback regarding my delivery and postnatal experience at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. When I reported that my water had broken, the midwives did not take my concerns seriously and insisted it was just the gel from a vaginal assessment. As a result, my child remained in the womb for nearly a day without amniotic fluid, eventually passing meconium in the womb. This situation led to an emergency c-section, which I believe could have been prevented with timely intervention. Post-delivery, I experienced a significant lack of support from the care assistants and staff. The staff often mentioned they were short-staffed, which impacted the level of care I received during a critical time. I hope that sharing this feedback will contribute to improvements in patient care and staffing at the hospital.

Review titled Amazing staff

I came into hospital with an asthma attack and stayed over night to be observed. I was in a very stressed out and bad mood coming in as I was struggling to breathe properly and I had already been dismissed by a doctor in another facility who said I was fine. As soon as I started the triage process I was completely reassured and settled down as all the staff who helped me were extremely comforting and helpful. Thank you so much to anyone who helped me during this stay, you are all exceptional!
