I had to attend Cardio Respiratory to be fitted with 7 day heart rate monitor. I was seen promptly and the Nurse who dealt with me was lovely. Caring and very reassuring, I was told any problems ring the direct number I was given. Brilliant service. Thank you to Cardio respiratory team

I would like to thank all doctors and staff in the intensive care unit who gave me so much of their time and attention. Special thanks to to the Doctors and Nurses who attended me in my recovery. Also the Philipino care nurses, we are so lucky that these people are prepared to leave their homes to come to the NHS and look after us with such dignity A great big thank you to you all

  3. Review titled Absolutely outstanding care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Amanda B - Posted on 10 January 2024

I cannot praise highly enough the care I received when presenting to A&E with appendicitis this week. From the triage to scan to surgery and after-care on the ward, every single person - without exception - was friendly, professional and caring. I am in awe of the exceptional service I received and would like to extend my thanks to everyone who supported me in any way. Not only this, but staff genuinely seemed to enjoy working at the hospital listening to their friendly interactions with each other. Wow, wow, wow - if I was going to have appendicitis anywhere, I am so delighted I had it here! Thank you

  5. Review titled Wonderful service.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I received an appointment for Orthopaedics. I was seen by consultant, his manner and treatment to me just wonderful..... explained everything, extremely courteous! very gentle when manipulating my arm and then very quickly organised various courses to take to determine how to proceed. Extremely impressed. Nurses are caring and the whole department has a very happy atmosphere. Well done Burton Orthopaedic Department...you are a department that needs to be emulated in other hospitals.

Given an appointment for MRI scan by letter, then had text which stated a different time. I have tried to contact the Hospital/department only to get cut off and then they have taken the phone off the hook. so I can not confirm the appointment time. Same thing happened when I tried Derby switch board.

  7. Review titled Wonderful staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Amanda - Posted on 21 November 2023

I had a gastroscopy at Queens Hospital today and the staff were so kind and reassuring. I was incredibly nervous before this procedure and everyone involved - the triage staff nurse, the nurse who fitted my cannula, the nurse who held my hand through the procedure, the consultant who completed the procedure, and the discharge nurse - were all so very friendly which made the procedure much more bearable. I just wanted to say thank you for being so compassionate. Everybody went above and beyond to make me as comfortable as I could be.

  8. Review titled A&E waiting times

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 November 2023

I had been referred to A&e from an out of hours GP - I was there over 4 hours before even being seen by triage and then another 2 hour wait before a nurse attempted to take my bloods, unfortunately they was unable to take them so it required a doctor to do this, however they explained they are not sure when they can get a doctor to do this bloods as it was very busy that evening. I spoke with one the nurses and asked how long roughly this could all take And she explained when a doctor finally gets round to do my bloods it can take over an hour for the results and then they would be unsure how long before a doctor could review this. I had already been waiting over 6 hours so ended up discharging myself as it would have made no difference. I had just been sitting there for over 6 hours with no treatment.

  9. Review titled Great Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anne Lewis - Posted on 21 November 2023

''I was on Ward 3 for an extensive period. In the time I was being treated the care I received at Burton was 2nd to none. This care came from the domestics, catering, HCAs, nurses, doctors, physio, OT, porters, Chaplain, Priest & others carrying out tests/scans etc. Nothing was too much trouble, people went the extra mile in ensuring I had everything I needed. The staff (despite being a very busy Ward) managed to treat me as an individual amongst their numerous other patients. I was treated with care, kindness and understanding throughout my stay. This was given by all the day and night staff. They also never complained with the amounts of drinks they made me both day and night when I couldn't sleep.0 The doctors also went above and beyond in liasising with other Specialists to ensure the best treatment on my behalf. The domestics kept the wards/room etc spotless which was very reassuring when using the hospital facilities. Due to dietary needs catering bent over backwards to accommodate me and the food provided was great/lots of choice on the menu. My Spiritual needs were also met by the Hospital, with regular visits to me by both Chaplain and Priest. Again a holistic approach to a patients needs & was much appreciated. Then I had the input of the Physio and OT, who gave me information and arranged equipment/services for home. All of this makes the difference to a stay in hospital and recovery. My experience of Burton hospital has been a very positive one from being admitted. Well done all staff at this hospital''

  10. Review titled Fantastic care at Treatment Centre

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Joanna Dimitriou - Posted on 16 August 2023

I recently had surgery (tonsillectomy) at the Treatment Centre in Queens Hospital Burton and was delighted with the care I received. All of the staff involved, especially the nurses, were extremely friendly, professional and caring. They took time to explain everything to me from the procedure to aftercare and medication. They treated me like a human being and reassured me when I got anxious just before the surgery. Only thing was that I would have appreciated a bit more privacy and quiet when recovering in the ward after my surgery as my bed was right next to the nurses offices so it was quite loud and busy. Nevertheless, everything else was stellar - I don't believe I have ever been better cared for in a hospital environment. Thank you to all the staff at the Treatment Centre!
