  2. Review titled Kind, friendly, caring staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had an operation to repair my hernia under general anaesthetic. The staff were always respectful to each other, making for a good working atmosphere. Throughout my 10 hour stay there, I was always treated in such a kind, respectful and thoughtful way. That is all the staff, from the receptionist, nurses, anaesthetist, doctors, surgeon who operated on me, everyone. They could not do enough to help me get through the day successfully. A true testament to how professional they always are in a work environment that faces many real day to day pressures and strict deadlines. I definitely recommend the Ramsay Health Care - Fulwood Hall Hospital to anyone. Thank you for your great care of me.

  4. Review titled Poor operation after care

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Hugh whyte - Posted on 17 July 2024

Had complete knee replacement operation with the time from operation to discharge approx 24 hrs all went well Problem started the next day with dressing filling up with blood phoned the contact number on discharge note for advice and told that because I lived 25 miles from the hospital and a could not get there that I was to phone my local district nurse . As this was on a weekend Fulwood hall staff did not have a contact number to ring for the district nurse so I rang 911 and after approx 2.5hours I managed to speak to someone how was able to help This help consisted of having to get myself to the emergency treatment centre this was not a easy task due to the excess pain I was in The following Monday I contacted my local doctor to arrange a appointment and I was then shocked to learn that Fulwood Hall had not sent any information regarding my operation /discharge notice to them all in all the after care process is a disgrace and I would not recommend them

  5. Review titled Superb experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by DAVID DOBSON - Posted on 06 July 2024

I went in for a full right hip replacement.Reception girl was polite and friendly.I was shown to bed 16a ...nice clean room with 2 beds. When I went down for my op all the nurses were brilliant and made me feel calm and relaxed. The consultant who performed the operation was friendly and calm and oozed confidence.Well Done ....On return to my bed the nursing staff once again were second to none.... I was in alot of pain on my first night and the night staffs pain control care was first class.I never once had to press the help button because they were there monitoring me.I was really impressed.Discharge the following teatime went well and I was wheeled out to my waiting car and helped into it.This was a great help as I was quite worried about how I would get in.Returning 5th August for my post op. .. .. Well done everyone at Fulwood Hall Hospital you were all Superb.

  6. Review titled Lovely building poor care

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Marc Marvin - Posted on 11 May 2024

Building is lovely and clean, however the Dr I had clearly isn't bothered about his patients. I ask numerous questions about the cause of my slipped disc with he refused to answer ir how long I have had this injury. No suggestions on what drugs will help better with pain management dispite me asking again numerous times. The only thing he would tell me is I could not have an op. Despite my condition having life changing effects. Wouldn't recommend for at all.

A week after my hip replacement I was in a lot of pain, sent home with 1 box of codeine + told to take my own paracetemols, codeine all used rang the hospital it was a Sunday but expected the receptionist to take my name + get someone to contact me ,I also told her the physiotherapist hadn't got back to me with my physiotherapy appointment . She said ring my doctor there's nobody here. Not helpful, it's like when I checked in the week before, the receptionists computer was slow ,she said, it's doesn't want to work on a Saturday like me. Top tip don't have an operation on a weekend

  8. Review titled First class hospital.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Richard Kidd - Posted on 06 April 2024

I was booked in on 5/04/24 for vascular surgery on a leg vein. The staff were lovely and very friendly. The hospital is spotlessly clean, and the rooms are good. Apart from a slightly longer wait to go down to theatre, all I can say is how well they treated me and explained what was happening. The procedure took approximately 35 minutes, the consultant surgeon and his team were excellent, and there was hardly any pain. You were looked after very well, and I would highly recommend Fulwood Hall Hospital to anyone. 10/10.

  9. Review titled Very respectful

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Andrew - Posted on 21 April 2024

I have undergone previous procedures before at Fulwood Hall Hospital and I am always very impressed with their professionalism. They completely put you at ease and fully explain what your visit will entail. Most people feel understandably anxious when treatment is required, but their calm and caring manner is so reassuring. Thank you to everyone who helped me today .

  10. Review titled Couldn't have asked for a better consulation

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Claire Bennett - Posted on 09 January 2024

I got to the hospital, and started my appointment exactly on time. The orthopaedic surgeon showed me exactly what the issue was on my MRI imaging, my surgical options and my prognosis, they had clearly read the history so I didn't have to explain anything. The whole appointment only took 10 minutes and I really felt listened to.
