  1. Review titled Fantastic Experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Courtney Bartlett-Collier - Posted on 17 July 2024

When going for blood tests, the nurses/doctors normally have trouble finding my veins. However today at Rowley Regis Hospital, the lady that did my blood test, found a vein straight away, took the blood in under 5 minutes and I wasn't feeling dizzy or sick afterwards. Whatever she is paid is not enough, she's fantastic and would 100% recommend seeing her. I'm sad I can't remember her name. I visited at 09:10am on 17/07/2024.

  2. Review titled Very poor

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Brent - Posted on 05 February 2024

My mother was transferred to Rowley on 1st February 2024 from the QE, for rehabilitation following her recovery from Pneumonia. She is also in palliative care. When transferred I found her to be in pain, I asked the sister of the ward what medication my mom had been given that day, she said she did not know as the two hospitals use different systems. I then asked if the details were not recorded in the patient transfer notes. She said no, when I asked if she thought that this was a failure of the system she got defensive and said no. When I asked her to call the QE to find out what if any medication had been given to my mom, she refused and told me to phone. Amazing caring service for a palliative care patient. Then this afternoon I asked for over 20 minutes several staff if someone could get mom to the toilet, too late after 20 minutes she soiled herself and got very distressed as well as being in pain trying to hold herself. It then took two members of staff 25 minutes to clean and change her and the bed. Then tonight at visiting my sister found someone else occupying the room mom had been in and found her dumped in her bed with her bags in the dining room, left alone for45 minutes.

  3. Review titled Great Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Quickly processed by GP surgery for chest x ray following work injury injury general breathing problems over previous months. Radiologist and receptionists were all extremely friendly, efficient, happy and quick to provide any advice asked of them. Results also returned to GP surgery within a week even though expected time span given was 3-4 weeks. Easy to find hospital and correct department due to signposting.

  4. Review titled Nothing changed since last visit

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Since my last blood test where my name was shouted quietly from a distance and expected to get there in less than 2 seconds before they ask where you are, it seems nothing has changed. Once again I was called from a distance as the staff don’t bother getting up from their chairs, I felt sorry for the elderly lady who had to quickly rush as they kept shouting her name. Phlebotomist (same as last visit) didn’t even look away from her computer when I arrived and wasn’t exactly the most pleasant. Didn’t follow correct procedures for cleansing skin prior to blood test as she lightly wiped for no longer than a second before inserting needle, and once again left a massive painful lump on my arm, which despite many blood tests has only happened once before, which happened to be done by the same person! As a nurse I get that sometimes these things happen however the waiting room was completely empty and they were hardly rushed off their feet to justify this kind of laziness
