  1. Review titled A&E Understanding of AuDHD

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 November 2024

We recently attended the Royal Alex A&E department with our child who was having breathing difficulties. Our child has AuDHD, and a passing Dr/Nurse noticed his anxiety, took him to a private area and were so incredibly kind. They clearly transferred this information to the doctor that then saw him, who again was patient, compassionate, calm and completely understanding of his anxiety. Although it didn’t disappear entirely, this settled him greatly and was incredibly reassuring to us. Every Dr and member of nursing staff we encountered was warm and calming, and explained everything clearly, waiting for him to process and respond before pursuing. We rarely get this understanding in other situations, so to have it on a busy A&E ward, where the staff are so stretched, was incredible. Thank you so much.

  2. Review titled Cystic Fibroses

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by julian - Posted on 24 June 2024

couple in our late seventies living in Worthing and have a son of 52 years of age living with us with cystic fibrosis and type 3 diabetes .It beggars belief that with all the problems that we have to contend with that the only help he can get is with a four plus hour round trip to Southampton hospital and we a find it unbelievable that the Royal Alex hospital in Brighton will only deal with children afflicted with this terrible disability. Surely with the amount of consultants conversant with this awful affliction somebody must be able to take him under their wing as only with our dedication has he reached the this maturity which is admirable for an adult of his age and was hit by car many years ago suffers pain daily . thankyou

  3. Review titled Emergency department no service

Rated 1 star out of 5

My daughter had 40 C° fever didn't want to go down with paracetamol and ibuprofen. I called Nhs one one one helpline and gave appointment at 4 am. doctor said I should have dismissed the packaging advice and give double dosage. Senior doctor said she is fine now after 4 hours waiting and went against recommendation from other doctor to atleast do blood test. As well explained they are busy and recommended to come again if not better. Being busy is caused because you fail to investigate from the beginning and ask us to come back. It's a torture to wait 3-4 and seen your not enough for just a blood test. It's a system failure and I told him how do you know that she has an infection and that she doesn't need treatment without a blood test? He said not this trust in Brighton. This is regarding children's a&e treatment with multiple having same experience because it's nearest kids hospital.

  4. Review titled Brilliant care for my young baby

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 December 2023

Recently had to stay in hospital for 4 days as my 8week old baby had bronchiolitis. The nurses and drs were brilliant, explaining things clearly to me and showing me as much care as a parent as they did my baby. A really kind and compassionate team. The facilities were also good at the hospital - everyone we came across on our stay was kind and courteous from traffic attendants who helped us find parking to the cleaners. It definitely made a scary time a little easier to cope with. Thank you.

  6. Review titled Unbelievable Staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Toby Nicholson - Posted on 04 February 2023

A trip to the hospital with my daughter was made to feel more like a vacation thanks to the incredible staff who spent so much time playing games with her and giving her cuddles (and a teddy bear) when she needed comforting. Thank you to all the staff who were so kind and attentive to us even when they were finishing what was probably a long and grueling shift.
