  1. Review titled All staff very friendly and attentive but no substance.

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Severe Tinnitus and unilateral hearing loss. Advised that CBT has strong evidence, yet not referred to one. Had to get bog standard CBT through Trent. 1st session therapist said twice it's not a treatment for tinnitus. Had 7 sessions and then told me funding had expired. Had zoom meeting with the most well known tinnitus researcher, who wrote me a prescription. When I told the inner ear specialist, they said 'Who is that?' I was crestfallen. Clearly the gap between research and the clinic at this hospital is the size of a large ocean. Still suffering with no support!!

  2. Review titled Said shes Specialist nurse

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I name (rk) Been going here for months in gau for daily injections, husband always comes with me, today 23/11/22 at around 10am, the nurse wouldn't let my husband in when it was my turn, saying she needed to talk to me alone, this never has happened in all the months we have been going before, she didn't allow my husband in until she was about to give me the injection, she had an attitude the way she talked to my husband, she said she is a specialist nurse if she is why when she gave me the injection it hurt so badly it bought tears to my eyes when its never happened before with other nurses she just stuck the needle into me as if she was in a rush, also telling me to take my tablets every 6 hours when I've been told everyday to take them every 8 hours, with the other nurses this never happens they are more patient and understanding, also I didn't like her asking personal questions about if I'm safe at home, we go to gau unit where we are feeling sensitive as it is and to ask personal family questions when no other nurses don't, I found this very disrespectful, my husband is with me he is there to support and comfort me, this nurse needs to change her attitude in the way she talks to patients and the way she goes about being a nurse there are nurses that are a lot better and caring than this "specialist nurse" or go and work in a prison

  3. Review titled No body cares

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Marian Rose Keeling - Posted on 10 January 2023

Breast cancer 10 years ago, been fit and well until August 2022 and then started to feel bone pain. Referred back to breast unit for investigations. Since then had lots of tests, bloods, CT, bone biopsy which suggest that I have bone cancer. I feel that I'm being passed from pillow to post while they wait for a final diagnosis ( having to have a 2nd bone biopsy) meanwhile I'm in pain and can't walk more than 500 yards, up until August was walking 5 miles a day. No support for pain management and no calls from breast care nurses and just feel that no one cares. Shouldn't the breast care nurses be proactive and check in with me to see if I'm ok?

  4. Review titled Great Team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Ralph Ashton - Posted on 08 December 2022

Following a positive Bowel Cancer screening test, I was very quickly invited to attend the Endoscopy Clinic for a Colonoscopy, from entering the department, every member of staff was extremely kind, considerate and totally professional in attending to me, once in the clinic the Doctor and his team were fantastic, very caring and talking me through every step, the Doctor was obviously extremely competent and explaining the procedure all the way through, Polyps were removed and I was advised that a further Colonoscopy would be completed within the next few days to check again, I was told that cancer cells had been found in one of the Polyps, sure enough, I was called in 4 days later, the Doctor advised that one of the Polyps removed was cancerous and that I would be invited in for a CT Scan, this happened within 4 days due to a cancelation, scan completed, I was advised that a Bowel Cancer screening team would review my case and I would be invited back to discuss the results with a consultant. Within a week I have now seen the Consultant and been advised that the scan is clear and that hopefully I am now cancer free, the team will monitor my progress and I will be invited for a second meeting to discuss the options offered, 1 being surgery ? the other option is to be monitored. I wish to place on record my total gratitude to all the team at the Royal Derby Bowel Screening Department and the Endoscopy Department, this is not my only experience at this Hospital and every visit has given me 5 star treatment, thank you so much to everyone at the Royal Derby, wishing you all Seasons Greetings and all the very best for 2022, thank you.
