Have been here multiple times in alot of pain and am always getting sent away without a scan even though i go on weekdays when its not busy at all, they just want to send you back to your gp all the time even though I explained im getting nowhere with my gp and am in alot of pain and not eating or sleeping and its getting worse, my bloods are abnormal to and I just can't get any help, so now I have to pay out hundreds of pounds for private scans so thanks for that.

Review titled Rude horrible heartless nurses on bramble ward
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Ian robinson - Posted on 03 August 2024
My partners 9 yr old is currently in this hospital she has leukaemia and my partner has Covid so she cannot visit the hospital, the cancer team has told her she can phone and get information but the nurses on the ward refuse to give any information what so ever and even say they don’t care what the cancer team say they will not give information over the phone, these nurses are heartless how do they think my partner feels when her daughter who has cancer and is in hospital with a high temperature and these people will not tell her how she is!!! They say they will phone back and never do so my partner phones back in the evening to be told they will not give her any information over the phone!! So what is it they want her to do? Travel the nearly 50 miles with Covid and go to the ward to get the information? I used to hold nurses in high regard but not any more they are just horrible cold hearted people!!!

Review titled Rude rude reception staff.
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 20 March 2024
I rang up the hospital yesterday and spoke to the “operator”. She was so incredibly rude. The call was 1.24pm- should you wish to listen to it. I asked her if she could tell me where my uncle is, she said she would put through to patient relation or something similar to that. Before transferring me she said “maybe you should ask his family”!!!! She transferred me as soon as she finished saying it so I didn’t have chance to reply. What a disgusting thing to say to someone who’s worried about a family member- I am his family! I’m his niece!!! And what an accusation to make after I’ve spoken just 1 or 2 sentences to her, and I was very polite. After being transferred to the next lady, she was also rude in her tone. I get she has to abide by the rules, I just don’t know why they have to be so harsh. My uncle is nearly 90. He’s very poorly. My dad (his brother) has been to his house twice and hospital once with no luck of finding him. Eventually I was told he has been moved to ‘emergency accommodation’ yet would not tell me where as i am not his next of kin. We believe his next of kin is either an ex wife he hasn’t been married to for years and years or his daughter who’s turned up in his life in the last year after 40 years of no contact, after finding out my uncle has dementia. She is keeping my uncles whereabouts a secret due to her worry of his assets etc. We just want to see my uncle before he dies. My dad is absolutely heart broken he could potentially never see his family again, and all the while your employees are making snarky comments without knowing the whole situation. After hanging up the phone I cried. I couldn’t believe how I was just spoken to. I understand that there are rules in place to protect patients etc but you can still speak to someone nicely. I spoke to both of them nicely throughout. You can listen to the phone call and hear.

Review titled Wonderful care under often difficult circumstances
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Denise Hughes - Posted on 07 February 2024
Cancer diagnosis is not a happy thing. But mine was made less bad by the kindness, thoughfulness and expertise shown to me by every single person I had contact with. From the people at the reception, to the nurses, medical and surgical staff, caterers, cleaners, every singe one was always willing to go the extra mile. I still have a long way to go on my journey (so has His Majesty and Good Luck to him) but I can face that journey now knowing that I will be in safe hands. A humbling experience, I am a retired nurse myself and I just hope that when I was working, I sometimes reached the levels of care shown by all of these marvellous people.

Review titled Centre for Women's Health - drop in
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 31 January 2024
I attended the centre for women's health smear test drop in after receiving some concerning news. I was extremely nervous, I've never had a smear test before and I was alone. The nurse that saw me was unbelievably empathetic. She helped put my mind at ease, answered all of my questions and talked me through the process. She was gentle and kind throughout and I genuinely felt so well looked after. This is such a good service that's being offered, all of the staff are so lovely and welcoming. Thank you so much.

Thank you to all from the cleaning staff catering nursing staff and doctors. The best experience you could have hoped for in a bad situation

Review titled Perfect treatment.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Marc brown - Posted on 09 January 2024
My son was taken into hospital on Friday after suffering from a severe reaction to a peanut bar he had eaten. From the start I called 999 and requested an ambulance as my son was suffering from a reaction from a peanut bar, the ambulance arrived within 5 mins and the lady stayed on the phone until they arrived. The two paramedics treated him at our house before he was taken to Exeter hospital. On arrival we had to wait about half an hour to get into the hospital as the junior doctors were on strike. Upon arrival into the hospital, my son was checked over and had to have some more injections to counteract the reaction he was getting from the nut allergy. He was regularly checked on and monitored by the nurses and doctors. Everything was looking good and we were waiting for a bed in the ward. Then all of sudden things tock a turn for the worse, my son suffered a severe anaphylactic shock and wasn’t well at all. I quickly called the doctor over and they set to work on my son in a very professional and calmed manner to bring him back around again. Due to the fact his allergy was attacking time after time, the decision was made for him to be put in intensive care, where he would get a one on one around the clock care and should he need the doctors…they were there. I stayed with my son for the night, and he was given the best possible treatment anyone could ask for. He was looked after really well and the nurses were really polite and helpful. Luckily my son didn’t need the doctor’s assistance during the night. The next morning he started to look a lot better. They wanted him to stay in for another night for the monitoring of his breathing. Thankfully my son was able to come home on the Sunday night, which incredible considering how unwell he was on Friday. I can’t thank the staff doctors/nurses and everyone else who was involved in looking after him enough.

Thank you for taking the time to leave such lovely feedback. I am sure this was a very worrying experience for both yourself and your son and I am so glad to hear that you felt supported and cared for by the teams involved, especially when he deteriorated further. I will pass on your feedback to the teams in A&E and ICU, who I am certain will appreciate your kind words. I hope your son is recovering well. Kind regards Lisa
