  1. Review titled Attentive Staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 June 2024

From the smiling receptionist, to the caring nurses and trainees to the consultants and radiologists my experience was speedy, cheery, with care, thorough and considered by all staff. One of the lovely staff members was going off shift and came by to say goodbye. I felt that my condition was taken very seriously and the top care and opinions/results were provided. There were other people waiting longer than me, but they were also cheery and well attended to.

4 skin procedures to remove sun damage and check for possible cancer. Very caring procedure and easily answered any questions I had. Painless during and more importantly over the next 24 hours.

  3. Review titled A&E Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Beryl - Posted on 03 July 2024

I was seen very promptly on arrival at A&E with a broken wrist. The ENP explained what would happen with regards to x-rays, seeing consultant, manipulating bone back into place and aftercare. He remained with me throughout my stay. A very caring and reassuring man giving me confidence. The Orthopaedic Consultant explained how he was going to manipulate the bone back into place. He tried twice each time taking care and constantly asking how the pain was. I felt reassured that I was getting the best care. I can't thank these two men enough for their care, attention and professionalism.

  4. Review titled Exceptional Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Karen - Posted on 09 April 2024

Was admitted to the Anthony Letchworth ward for a cone biopsy. The nursing staff were all wonderful, consultant and anaesthetist so caring, and health care assistants their usual magnificent selves. Topped with the ward and department being exceptionally clean, my short stay was as pleasant as it could have been. Thankyou to you all.

  6. Review titled Wonderful experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Joanna - Posted on 24 April 2024

My partner flew back from running 157 miles in the Marathon des Sables, in southern Morocco on Monday. He had been told by the french medics there that he needed antibiotics and his blisters treated. He was triaged within 10 minutes of arriving, bloods were taken to check infection markers and then he was xrayed to see if the infection had gone into his bones. Results were back and he was seen by a wonderful Doctor and prescribed antibiotics within 3 hours. We were very impressed with the care and speed of treatment. Thank you. Jo

  8. Review titled Exceptional A&E Team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mrs R Freeman - Posted on 09 February 2024

We visited A&E on Sunday Feb 4th. My husband was in an acute episode of severe pain and the A&E team were simply fantastic from the minute we arrived - the kind and understanding receptionist staff, the efficient and sympathetic triage Nurse Practitioner whose professionalism and care instilled confidence immediately and also managed his pain so quickly and thereafter every single nurse, doctor, healthcare assistant and housekeeping staff of the team whom we met were kind, empathetic and caring despite the challenges of an evidently very busy dept. My husband was treated swiftly and thoroughly. Winchester A&E are a really brilliant team and we were so grateful for the wonderful care and treatment we received. Thank you!

  9. Review titled What a shambles.

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Chris - Posted on 21 February 2024

Labour ward was great but the Postnatal Ward was an absolute shambles. Absolutely short staffed and the staff that were there, were unhelpful and rude. There was only one midwife that actually showed an ounce of care. The student midwives were appalling and definitely need to training in how to talk to people. We were supposed to be discharged on the Saturday before 12, 9pm came and was told that we wouldn’t be out much before 1am, if at all. Given we had a newborn, we were told it was ok to stay the night and were told we’d be doing them a favour as it was one less person to discharge. Then told as we were helping, we’d be the first to go Sunday. Were we not, and were messed about until 4:30pm. I was told by a midwife in the end to make scene as people to who don’t push, get forgotten about. Utterly disgusting. What was a traumatic experience in the end, was made so much worse but this outcome. My wife wasn’t even offered to have her bed sheets changed in the four days she was there. Discharge procedure definitely needs addressing. It should not take 28hours to discharge a patient.

  10. Review titled Difficulty locating department for outpatient appointment

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Mr Alastair Cox - Posted on 12 January 2024

I brought my wife for a scan in the Ultrasound department this week (January 2024). My concern is that there was no diagram or detailed instruction with the appointment letter as to where the scanning department was. This was our first visit and a diagram would undoubtedly have been helpful. Much of the hospital is not new and finding the correct location was not straightforward.
