Review titled Red Practise - Walton on Thames
Rated 1 star out of 5

Getting an appointment on this clinic is synonymous to imposibility. You will be asked to call them by 8:30 and it's already fully booked. Get an anointment via websie, its the same thing. Nurses as well is not available for urgent treatment. We are forced to go to another clinic and spend a lot on transport. We end up like paying a private clinic just to be attended. It seems to be of no use to most people at Walton-on-Thames considering we are all registered there. What is this clinic for if they cannot be available at the time you need? It wasn't like this before the pandemic. Please help us get the good service from this clinic back.

Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Alison Jones - Posted on 01 July 2023
Having suffered from insomnia in some form for almost 30 years, I’ve made incredible progress in just a few short weeks by implementing some of the practices and techniques taught on this programme. Sincere thanks to the Sleep Team at the Royal Surrey.

Review titled Finally I can sleep!
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Louise H - Posted on 08 June 2023
I was referred to the insomnia service by my GP after years of struggling with my sleep. Over the past one to two years I have found my sleep difficulties worsen and it was taking several hours every night to fall asleep. With help from the insomnia service I have been able to significantly improve my sleep and I can now fall asleep with ease. I no longer lie awake for hours and do not wake up exhausted every morning. I was initially skeptical of sleep scheduling and was incredibly surprised with how quickly it improved my sleep! I would definitely recommend this service to anybody who is struggling with insomnia as I feel so much better now. Thankyou to the insomnia service.

Review titled Excellent help from the Insomnia Service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Shirley C - Posted on 05 October 2023
I've had such valuable help from the Insomnia Service - an incredibly effective approach to insomnia (CBTi, about which I must confess I was initially sceptical!) but also telephone support from a staff member who could not have been kinder, more supportive or a better listener. I couldn't have done it without her. Severe insomnia is such a dreadful, debilitating experience and, like many others I'm sure, I felt completely hopeless about the future. This programme gave me my life back. Thank you! And sorry for taking so long to send feedback.

Review titled Totally Overwhelmed
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by MarieW - Posted on 28 March 2024
Last May, I got a terrible infection, which attacked everything from my brain to my lungs, mostly affecting my mouth and my throat. My wonderful partner found me unconscious and gasping for breath and hurriedly called 999, thus saving my life. It was going to be the first of many times my life was saved that night. It was going to be a long night! The paramedics were here in a heartbeat. They performed an emergency tracheotomy, which was possibly another of my many life saves! I was doing a great impersonation of a cat using up my 9 lives! It transpired that I was clinically dying/dead. For 12 hours, a host of 6 different consultants, numerous theatre staff, and God knows how many other wonderful people battled to save me. Don't ask me how, but between them all they managed it, even rescusitating me at least 4 times! I was then put into an induced coma where I remained for 4 weeks waking up in the Intensive Care Unit. Needless to say, I was completely oblivious to any of this (I was filled in with the details later). I woke up eventually, much to everyone's surprise. I then managed to get a haematoma, which required another surgery lasting 3 hours (yet another life save!) waking up again in the Intensive Care Unit. I have no words to express my thanks and gratitude to All the staff in the Intensive Care Unit and various theatre technicians, etc etc etc. It goes far beyond any words I have to express my gratitude. I was then transferred up to the Clandon ward, where I also got amazingly wonderful care from everyone from the consultants, to the nurses, to the auxiliary staff, and absolutely everyone in between. After surviving everything from brain clots, sepsis (on more than one occasion!), pneumonia, and God knows what else, I'm still here and able to talk about it. I spent 3 month's in total in the Royal Surrey. I'm back home and recovering slowly and that is totally thanks to everyone who took amazing care of me, from the Paramedics, to ICU, to Clandon and all and everyone in-between, there are far too many to mention!! Thank you, thank you to everyone at the Royal Surrey. MarieW

Review titled So much care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Lauran Quelch - Posted on 16 May 2023
I had a trans-vaginal scan today. I have had a few due to persistent endometriosis and I hate them. But today I was so lucky to have the nurse I had. She was gentle, caring, soothed me when I got a little bit teary, and held my hand when the scan became uncomfortable. She went over and above to look after me and I can't express how different her warm demeanour made my whole experience. An amazing member of staff!!

Review titled Great care
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Barbara - Posted on 29 May 2023
My husband required surgery via the short stay surgical unit. The staff were so kind and helpful and made a difficult time a bit more bearable. Thank you so much to all of them. One tiny point I would raise. While he was there, there were building works going on right outside the window. So while patients were waiting for or recovering from surgery, they had to lie there and listen to angle grinders and drilling and hammering. I wonder whether this work could have been done at the weekend.

Review titled Deceptively Effective
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by James - Posted on 03 May 2023
I was initially skeptical about using a cbt-i-based approach to treating my sleep difficulties with the Insomnia Service, and whilst it’s no silver bullet, it’s helped me feel far more sanguine about my sleep in general and has given me specific tools and guidance to steadily help improve the quality of my sleep and my sleep hygiene regimen. Working with the team has also encouraged me to seek assistance with other mental health challenges and has put me on a path to managing and ameliorating my sleep issues in the longer term.

Review titled Exemplary care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Chris Shoukry - Posted on 11 June 2023
I was admitted to RSCH from A&E on Sunday 28th May 2023 and in Albury Ward until 2nd June. From start to finish I received exemplary care and attention. - delivered with professionalism, care, compassion and humour. I observed the same high standards in the care of fellow patients on the ward. I felt I was treated as an individual and staff always had time to talk despite being so busy. The same applied to all the services including the catering and cleaning staff. I would like to express my thanks to everyone involved in my care - I couldnt wish for better. if there were 10 stars for the best experience possible I would rate RSCH with 10. I hope this message will be passed on to all the staff - they worked so well as a team as well as individuals. Thank you to everyone.
