Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Annette Williams - Posted on 03 September 2024
From the minute you walk through the door, the kindness and care from the staff is 1st class.I can't thank the gastro team for what they have done for me and continue to do.This is not my local hospital but circumstance has bought me here and never would I want to be under anyone's else's care in the future. They have all shown nothing but kindness and empathy,no matter how busy..Every day I feel so lucky to be treated here Thankyou ruh, from the bottom of my heart.

Review titled General Surgery - a brilliant service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Jeremy - Posted on 01 September 2024
I want to give the whole General Surgery team a big thank you! They were very friendly, caring, professional and efficient in the face of a large case load. The pathway to my operation was clearly laid out for me, all my questions and concerns were dealt with very well. Post op I was again cared for very well and never rushed while being monitored through the stages involved in getting ready for the trip home. Most importantly, the outcome of my day case surgery seems really good. Again, thank you all!

Rated 2 stars out of 5

The a&e waiting area is extremely run down and out of date with not enough seats. Why are the screens still up? Taking up seating space. There was ques out the door. Clearly not enough staff. Very poorly run and managed

Review titled Yet again, fantastic caring service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Alison Brady - Posted on 16 July 2024
3rd time in 6weeks my daughter has been admitted. The care and consideration shown to use was fantastic from A&E to PAU. We never felt rushed or that we were wasting their time. All staff were caring and kind despite being under immense pressure (especially in A&E). I can not thank them enough for their care, compassion and attention. Thank you to the amazing staff, you are all heroes

Review titled Dirty and unloved
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 27 June 2024
I recently spent a day in the emergency department and was shocked at how dirty the place was. It felt like I was in a 3rd world hospital. In the toilet the bin was overflowing with paper with paper also sat on top of the bin and on the floor. At no point was I asked to use hand gel during my stay. I had to ask for something to eat once I had been there for several hours and had to ask for a pillow. The staff are very good though - just overworked. When I left I was told I had to come back in 2 days time (Monday) at 10am for an appointment. The doctor made me feel like something to be scraped off her shoe. Does anyone at this hospita have any idea how difficult it is to get there at this time and hope to park? Especially on a work day when you are not feeling too well. I cancelled the appointment and will not be re-making it. I have told my wife not to call an ambulance again if I fall ill during the night as I do not want to go back there. Also - how am I supposed to review this hospital without using the capital letters that make up the name?

Review titled Great service in RuH’s Accident and Emergency Unit
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Gerry W - Posted on 19 July 2024
My wife suffered a significant injury to her leg on 28th June last, while we were holidaying from Ireland in the Bath area. We then attended RuH’s A and E. The courteous, professional and efficient service we received from all the staff whom we met there, was admirable and impressive. Within 2 hours of entering the hospital my wife was given a wheelchair, registered, assessed by a nurse, sent for an x ray, had x rays taken, was seen by not one, but two, doctors, and, before discharge, was given crutches and advice on follow up. The service was even more admirable as a strike by junior doctors that day seriously impacted staffing levels in the hospital.
