  1. Review titled Great care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Chris Hall - Posted on 09 November 2022

I cannot recommend Salford Royal highly enough. The care I have received so far has been amazing on all three wards that I have been on so far, Emergency Assessment Unit, h4 and Acute Neurological Unit, the Doctors, Nurses and support staff have been amazing and nothing is too much trouble for them. Thanks for taking great care of me.

  2. Review titled Lloyds Pharmacy - Great Service

Rated 3 stars out of 5

    by Roops14 - Posted on 03 November 2022

I'm a regular visitor to the hospital with my wife (who is receiving treatment at several departments). I wish to give a big "shout out" and thank you to the staff at the Lloyds Pharmacy near the main reception area... who without doubt must be the hardest working team in the whole hospital. Their work area is never without a queue of people - and therefore they never seem to get a break. They also meet every type of patient - some of whom are very rude and aggressive. And yet, they are unfailingly patient and meet every request politely. They take the time to explain to everyone what medicine they are receiving and how it should be administered. They are consistently courteous and professional. There are a few departments at the hospital whose customer service needs a lot to be desired, with some in particular seemingly overstaffed and underworked. That cannot be said about the Lloyds Pharmacy. Well done and keep up the good work.

  3. Review titled Outpatient phone line

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 30 November 2022

I rang the phone line on 3 separate days to cancel my appointment and let the team know I had a chest infection and couldn’t take my medicine, I was told on the first phone call on 25-11-22 that I would receive a call back that didn’t happen, then I called again on 29-11-22 at 3.55 to reach number 1in the cue to then go back to number 6 x3 I hung up after 45 minutes I then went on line to cancel the appointment, no communication back so I rang again on the appointment day 30-11-22 sat on the phone from 9.05 to 9.45 reaching number 1 on 3 separate occasions then to go back up the line again, I hung up in distress. I understand they are busy but this needs to be sorted they tell you how much it costs them for missed appointments but no wander if you can’t get through to cancel them.

This work includes looking at other methods of communication to alleviate pressure on our phone lines. 4. Review titled Poor service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 October 2022

Had a very badly broken foot, the break clearly evident. Asked the receptionist if i may have a crutch, i was told to take a seat, the only seat was some distance away. I asked again and was told triage would offer this. Once called, i had to walk across the dept in total pain whilst everyone just watched making me feel humiliated. At triage I asked again for some assistance to walk, i even offer to pay for a crutch and again told no help available. Again expected to walk accords packed reception area in agony. What sort of medical treatment is this? The evening service in the hospital just seem to treat you like you are not a person

  6. Review titled Always So Well Looked after

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 November 2022

Attended for my yearly MOT last week, I get one since donating a kidney some years ago to my son. Seen on time for blood pressure and weight and the nurses in the department are always happy and chatty, it always puts me at ease, especially when I know my weight is up, then went in to see my live donor nurse, who always makes me feel like I am the only patient she has on her list. I am currently having some emotional issues, nothing to do with my kidney but she sat and listened and offered support. I never felt rushed. She rang me the next day to discuss results and check up on me and had got some numbers of support services for me, not her job really but I feel like she always goes out of her way. Thank you to all the renal team, you are amazing.

  7. Review titled Awful experience every time

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 October 2022

I really wish management would retrain their staff to understand that not everyone can wear a face mask and be a little more understanding that not everyone is the same. I cannot tolerate anything restricting my face and I have personal reasons for this that I do not wish to share with a waiting room full of other people. I cannot breath wearing the mask and to be spoken down to by a member of staff stating I manage to wear one all day and I have asthma. Shocking

  8. Review titled Excellent patient care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Leah - Posted on 11 October 2022

Visited accident and emergency as my mum was poorly. Was seen too within minutes of arrival, had been triaged and assessed within minutes after and test were completed .Although the nurse informed us there may be a 8 hour wait, she guickly attended to my mums needs aka pain relief and sickness relief. Turns out a doctor was available within less than an hour after arriving in accident and emergency .Doctors was very assertive and listened and sympathised with mums issues. Mum needed xrays and Ct scans which nurses were advocated for my mum on the urgency and was seen too quicker than expected. Doctors attended from surgical department not long after scans. Very supportive and communicated plan of action well to me and my mum. Within 3/4 hours of attending mum was comfortable resting on a ward being cared for by c1 ward. As a nurse myself, i feel the care provided to my mum was brillant. I understand the pressures of the nhs at the moment and they continued to high standard of care. Thankyou so much to all team involved

  9. Review titled Fantastic treatment and aftercare

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Susan Stephens - Posted on 30 November 2022

I was admitted late on Monday 24th October following a scan on Sunday 23rd that identified a large mass putting pressure on the brain. I required emergency surgery and was operated on, on Tuesday to have it removed. I then remained on ward H 7 for a week. I can not praise highly enough the wonderful care and treatment I received from admission to discharge, the neurosurgeon who conduct the surgery and his team did an amazing job and then the aftercare and support from everyone I came into contact with Consultants, Doctors, Nurses, support teams was fantastic I can’t thank everyone enough for what was done for me by an exceptional team.
