Review titled Fantastic staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Michelle Bavington Yates - Posted on 03 March 2025
I was admitted and ended up on Ward 5. I can't say enough about the staff on this unit. They were all kind, caring, efficient. Sometimes patients are not the nicest people and on more than one occasion I witnessed staff comforting people who were stressed and fearful. Thank you for taking such good care of me.

Review titled Horrible experience
Rated 2 stars out of 5

My GP doctor recently referred me to the cardiology to get an echocardiogram. I had the appointment yesterday. However, this experience was horrible. The appointment was extremely painful for me. I was even shaking with pain and getting lightheaded. I even started to cry from the pain of the probe digging into my chest. I have googled whether it is normal to be left bruised after an echocardiogram, however Google has told me that it is in fact not normal to be left with a bruise. My whole left chest aches and the bruise just keeps getting darker and more tender to the touch. I’m not sure whether I am just extremely sensitive to pain, I never used to be. But at the end of the day, I don’t believe any professional should be leaving bruises on my body, especially at the hospital. I also felt that the doctor/nurse could have been more understanding, when she noticed I had started to cry, and given me a moment to collect myself instead of continuing and causing me more pain. Maybe I should have spoken up, but it was just me in that appointment with her and I’m also still quite young and only recently have started to go into my appointments alone. I have had family suggest making a formal complaint, but I don’t wish to go through all the drama of doing so.

Review titled Amazing staff

I just want to say how amazing the staff were today when I brought my little boy in to A&E with a dog bite. We was seen so quickly. My little boy was so upset and wouldn’t stop crying but they did everything to try and settle him. As we was leaving one of the male nurses gave my boy and lion teddy and he hasn’t let it go since. Amazing service and such kind staff.

I attended your A and E in the early hours of Sunday morning. Thank you so much for the care I received. It was excellent. I was very frightened and the calmness and professionalism of all the team made me feel I was in good hands. Thank you to all.

Review titled Wonderful staff
Rated 4 stars out of 5

My mother (97) had to have an ambulance after falling at home, she was on the floor most of the night until I found her in the morning, although we had to wait 2 hours for an ambulance I cannot praise highly enough the paramedics that arrive, the man in the back of ambulance with me and mum, so caring and helpful we were held there for four hours until a bed was available, then she was overnight in a and e, but the staff did everything they could for her. Then she moved to Iaau where the staff cared for her so gently special mention goes to the healthcare assistant she was amazing, and the staff nurse on duty who had to ring us on Saturday evening to go back in as mum was at the end, I see so many complaints about the hospital and yes we were held up for hours but the care given once in was exemplary

Review titled Very quick
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Attended A & E today, (7th), with an ankle injury. Very pleasant staff, served quickly, only waited 20-30 minutes, then triaged efficiently and quickly. Put straight into a wheelchair and taken to X-Ray. Waited 2 minutes then the radiographer came for me, then went back to the waiting room in A&E where the nurse came straight for me to discuss my results . Sent home after ligament damage diagnosis. Back home within 2 hours of leaving the house. Exceptional service! Thank you.

Just want to say a massive thank you to all staff that was on shift last night. I went with my daughter who was in a very bad shape because of a chest infection. I couldn't belive how fast they reacted and how well we've been treated. As soon as they sow her condition they took her in. They just left me to register her with the receptionist. The nursses that helpt us were amaizing and also the doctor. I never had a more plesant experience in hospital as this one! Thank you for your support. My little one is ok now thanks to you.

Review titled Incredible support

Ward 2 Planned Investigation Unit 16/11/24 The woman with brown hair and helped with my first tablets was absolutely incredible. She explained everything in great detail. She didn’t belittle us, she made us feel so comfortable, I felt very scared and vulnerable at times during the day but she made me feel human again. My partner came to the unit with me this day and we kept saying to each other how glad we were that we had her as our main nurse. We don’t have a single negative comment about our experience with her. If it was our choice we would give her Christmas and new years off *hint hint and wink wink* Thanks again, we won’t ever forget you. Kind regards for the future.
