Would just like to say a big thank you to the paediatric orthopaedic team and John Atwell day ward for a very slick service this morning. My son required a brief anaesthetic to remove some pins from his leg. We were extremely well looked after throughout. Admitted at 07:00. Saw consultant, nurse and anaesthetist in quick succession, all of whom introduced themselves to us. Accompanied to theatre reception where the staff were extremely kind and helpful. We were very fortunate to be first on the list. Into the anaesthetic room and off to sleep quickly and efficiently with his choice of flavoured oxygen!! Consultant then came into recovery to explain how the procedure went and what to do regarding the bandages. Recovery team were also very informative and efficient, introduced themselves, and escorted him back to the ward where the nurse who had admitted him was ready to welcome him back. Physio arrived shortly after, introduced herself, and was extremely helpful in explaining how the air boot works and ensuring my son could walk both on the flat and up and down stairs. She also answered all of our questions and gave some additional exercise tips. Our wonderful nurse (a 3rd year student) then arranged for obs to be done and cannula removed and discharge summary written and printed. We were discharged with all of our questions answered and back home by 12:03. Amazing. Thank you.
