I called several times this afternoon 4pm Thurs 15th Feb, actually four and on three occasions my call to the Ophthalmology dept admissions was disconnected, i.e someone lifted the receiver and put the phone down on me. The forth occassion I went via the main switchboard to "god knows where' and left a menage on an answer machine. Yours hopefully for a call back please!

I needed to try to get in touch with the Urology department. I could not for the life of me, find a extention number for Urology anywhere on the hospitals site! Also switchboard is now when you ring is a robot and not an actual robot and get the word mixed up everything you ring!

I took my self to A&E this morning I was treated so well I then went to Same day emergency ward My treatment from both departments was Excellent I cant Thank you enough Kind regards Marion

I wish to thank all staff in accident and emergency for being so thoughtful, kind, understanding and professional, you made this awful, serious, emergency health problem bearable and stable. You are all heroes to me and get 5 stars. Sorry couldn't send answer by mobile, my network wouldn't allow.

Took my son to an and e all the staff who saw to him were absolutely brilliant! He had such a thorough examination and the care was amazing from the lady who took the bloods, the man who did the obs to the Doctor! Our brilliant NHS needs more recognition and praise! Thankyou so much :)

Went to A and E with my daughter this morning , thinking shall I take sandwiches or a flask as this could take a while . On getting there it looked a bit of a disaster zone chaotic. But within 30 minutes she had been through triage and sent off to see a different dept. She soon saw a doctor and well within the hour had seen the doctor got her prescription and we were on our way home . Was very impressed with the hole process It did look chaotic at first but it worked amazingly . Well done Southend Hospital.

My Dad has been in A &E since Monday morning 29th Jan. It now Wed 31st. He is in unbearable pain. He hasn't slept for 48 hours because of all the noise from the comings and goings. Nobody from Urology has even bothered to come and see him. He's in thus condition because they messed up his first operation.

The treatment we received in A&E today was really excellent, very thorough and professional. All relevant tests were completed quickly with results back within an hour. We were kept informed at all stages making us feel we were in good hands and that we were more than just another patient. Thanks to the whole team for the way it all came together, well done!

I arrived at 7.15am and was home by 1pm. The staff were all so kind and efficient even though they were very busy. My operation went well. A huge thank you to everyone at The Surgical Day Stay ward, especially the surgeon. You are doing such a good job, this is so uplifting for the patients in your care.
