Today marks 2 weeks since my hip surgery at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital. I wanted to share my observations related to the pre-op period, hospital stay and the period after the surgery. Never, and I am 67 years old and have had several surgeries, have I met such kind, hard-working, professional people. From the ladies at the reception desk through the nursing team, physiotherapists and doctors, everything was at the highest level. Everyone who visited me in the room, the cleaner, the person serving coffee or the person taking orders for meals, was interested in my health and asked if there was anything they could help with. Special thanks to for a doctor performing surgery his dedication, interest and professionalism. The day after the surgery at 9.45pm he personally came to inform me that the post-surgery hip X-ray was normal and everything was fine. Thank you very much. It was no different after the surgery when I returned home. The next day, even though it was Saturday, a nurse called to ask if everything was OK. Two days after returning, a call from the physiotherapists asking about my health and the results of my exercises and setting a date for the next visit. Finally, a heartfelt thank you to the people preparing the meals. A very large selection and unique taste. I regret that I could not stay longer and check the entire menu. Thank you very much, you are all wonderful. I apologize if I forgot anyone

Went in for hip replacement but the care started weeks before with clear emails and a really fabulous phone interview. You felt like you were in the hands of professionals. This was proven from the moment we arrived in in patient reception (they were so kind and friendly), through to nursing ( both day and night), pantry, preclinical and recovery nursing staff, the porters, physio and X-ray staff and the brilliant surgeon and his clinical team. Everyone was so professional This felt like a 5 star hotel with a bit of surgery. I would recommend Spire Lea Hospital very highly. And I am an NHS patient.
