  1. Review titled Delivering Poor Service

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have been referred to this hospital via Bupa, I had arranged an appointment for the 18/11/24 and taken the day off work. Firstly there was miscommunication as two consultants were trying to book me in at the same time, leaving me to turn down one which was unfortunate. Then Three days prior to the appointment I was called and asked if I could move my appointment which I explained was inconvenient for me, where the receptionist was quite rude and said ok leave it as it is then. On the day of the appointment, I was called early on and told my appointment has been cancelled, due to the consultant is now not working and no one would be covering his clinic. Very poor from a patients point of view and now waiting for a call to try and organise another appointment, not even sure I want to choose this hospital any longer as there is now damage to my trust in this particular hospital.

Arrived for 10:00 outpatient appt for minor procedure. Not taken through until 10:30. Receptionist could not inform as to reasons why. Would be great to have better communication. If running late please say upon arrival.

  3. Review titled Put me through a year of hell.

Rated 2 stars out of 5

First visit was April 2023 for a consultation on a hip replacement. My hip was in extremely bad shape. They agreed to do the op on Jan 4th 2024. They then cancelled without telling me. By this time my hip was bone on bone. I had to be transferred to the trust and am still waiting even though my hip has completely disintegrated. The reason they gave for the cancellation was my asthma which they must have known about because it is on my medical notes. I should imagine this hospital is great if you can afford to pay, or if you are an NHS patient in perfect health other than the problem you are referred for. If this is not the case then please refuse the referral and ask to go on the trust waiting list. I wasted a year with South Bank Spire when I could have been moving up the Trust list. South Bank Spire are a business. If they don't think they can turn you around in 3 days, they will not do the procedure. Due to the delay this has caused I have endured extreme suffering and developed a myriad of other health problems. I am fuming, both with them, and the doctors who referred me to them, knowing that at some stage, I would probably be rejected.
