  1. Review titled Awful Experience with Consultant/Dr

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 August 2024

Attended the pain management clinic today with older immobile family member we waited to be called. The consultant came and proceeded to tell us that he had read the referral from the GP and we were Lucky to not have waited long for the appointment on the NHS. (This was a second appointment a follow up referral as previous pain management hadnt been sufficient. ) He was offhand and asked why we had not continued through the private route??? During the very frustrating unproductive 9 minute appointment - The patient was asked questions which the Dr then proceeded to answer himself - he was totally patronising - his patient manner was atrocious and the older patient left the 9 minute appointment feeling bewildered as the 3 previous medical professionals they had seen had set up a treatment plan for pain management that was then totally undone by this one person - and told if this medication doesn't work talk to your GP - Lets not forget it was the GP who referred the patient to the pain management again. The accompanying carer attending with the patient was equally unimpressed by his manner and found them to be extremely patronising unhelpful and rude. Dismissive at best. When dealing with older patients a certain amount of respect or understanding to their needs should be addressed and unfortunately this didnt happen. We can only hope that this experience wont be repeated and if we are given a further appointment with this particular consultant - we will certainly think twice before going. It was such a negative experience at best a complete waste of 9 minutes in a room - listening to someone answer their own questions Total waste of time dissapointing and awful.

  3. Review titled Best experience ever

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Ward 3d is the best ward ever. The impeccable service we received here has truly restored our faith in the nhs. The doctors and nurses have been so understanding and so helpful and we cannot express our gratitude enough. They made the whole experience so smooth and easy. It was the best service we have ever had. As happy as we were for the patient to be discharged, we were very sad to say goodbye to the wonderful team who had looked after her. Furthermore, the cleanliness and hygiene of the hospital was amazing. There is not one bad thing I can say about our experience here. If only we could mention names because there were a wide range of staff members who truly contributed to our journey. Thank you so much! The staff in ward 3d are amazing. They deserve any sort of appraisal because they have done everything and more! Love from the patient and family members of Bed 27 xx

  4. Review titled Felt privileged to be treated here

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Referred for an Ablation. The whole process could not be faulted from pre op assesment, interim telephone help to final procedure. Not only was the equipment mightily impressive, the performance and care given by all staff from consultant, anaesthetists, doctors, nurses was excellent professionally-and friendly.

Would like to thank the the doctors and their team for a friendly and professional procedure to repair my cto heart problem. It was way above expectation and made me feel at ease throughout the complex procedure. Also all of the nurses involved with the before and after care wre terrific and hard working to provide the best recovery possible. Thanks to all involved I am quickly back on my feet and without any worry or stress.

  6. Review titled Very bad practice

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Urgent referral for suspected lung cancer, I waited 2 weeks for appointment which I booked myself as they had no sutible times. But 5 days coming up to my appointment date. They changed it without my consent to anytime they like. Called to rebook my appointment time as I didn't request changed. Which was accepted. Then next morning they changed it again. This time I emailed them my availability, they booked a sutible time. Next day again changed to whatever they like. Would not recommend this hospital.

The transport department made me feel so special. I was treated with dignity and care. They updated me on when my transport will arrive, they made me tea and gave me some chocolate. They addressed me by my name. When I was in pain they showed compassion and they reassured me.Everyone there looked relaxed because of this great transport team. The department should be added on review list. These guys are super professional, efficient, compassionate and kind. When I am well I would like to visit those guys and say thank you personally.

I had to see a consultant, have an ultrasound and mamagram. The wait time was minimal and every member of staff I met (receptionists, nurses, doctors, etc) were helpful and friendly and made me feel very relaxed and stress free about all the procedures.

  10. Review titled Very disappointed

Rated 1 star out of 5

I wait 3 months for semen test and they send me message last 7 days that i have to bring sample with me as “ you cannot give sample on site” i live longer than 2 hour from the hospital - where do i go to produce the sample? Hide in some public toilets? McDonalds toilets? Wait another 3 months somewhere else? This is ridiculous, i understand that for some reason they cannot provide place for the test but wont understand why would not they inform you while you booking the test so you can reconsider your choice?
