  2. Review titled Great experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Happy patient - Posted on 27 June 2024

I came into the A&E department this morning, triaged swiftly to Urgent Treatment Centre and within 90 minutes, I had been assessed, had an x-ray, consultation and prescription for my cat bite. Everyone was helpful, provided good care and ensured that I could get through the system quickly and happily. Signage much improved in the hospital too though finding the pharmacy from the Urgent Treatment Centre was not easy!

  3. Review titled World Class NeuronICU

Rated 5 stars out of 5

The experience we had in this department was on another level. The professionalism of the nurses and doctors was exemplary and faultless. The care the nurses took of their patients was something we had not witnessed before. The level of care and attention was truly world class.

  4. Review titled Impossible to speak to a consultant

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by gIULIO - Posted on 12 May 2024

Son fractured his foot, was seen at the A&E in Chicester by a nurse and his -rays were sent to St George's for him to be seen by a doctor. After a week no one has reached out to us, we called everyday the orthopaedics dept of st George's and no one picks up the phone. I asked for the Xrays (they confirmed they have them) so that I can see a consultant privately, and I am now in a bureacratic quagmire to have access to them.

I attended the day surgery for an operation and from start to finish was looked after in style.Nothing was too much trouble for the wonderful hard working staff. After the operation i was transferred to the recovery ward and they did their best for both myself and my wife who was waiting for me,the staff in the recovery ward were all terrific and could not have been kinder. All in all they all made a difficult time for me an easier experience and i cant thank them enough from both my wife and I.

I had an outpatient appointment with gynecology. Everyone was so lovely and caring. The gynecology nurse even went out of her way to help me with an other department. I am so greatful. She made my day! We need more people like her in this world. Thank you!

  7. Review titled Outstandingly positive experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sue Podd - Posted on 19 June 2024

I had a badly infected artificial hip replaces in my right leg which has chronic lymphoedema so I was very vulnerable. My experience was exceptional from pre operative care to post operative follow up. Staff at every stage were outstandingly good; not only delivering exemplary medical care but consistently demonstrating compassion, empathy and kindness. I was very unwell but felt safe and confident that everything needed for a successful outcome was being done. I also felt involved in my treatment because I was kept well informed and communication throughout was clear, professional and encouraged my participation which I found very reassuring. I am equally impressed with the care I am still receiving now I am at home but still on IV antibiotics. I am closely monitored and when needed additional tests or investigations have been carried out promptly and efficiently. I am genuinely impressed with the high quality and consistency of my treatment. I would like to thank everyone involved and to emphasise my appreciation. Brilliant orthopaedics, trauma ward, recovery, microbiology, home IV team and patient portal service have ensured a positive experience for me at a very vulnerable time and I am extremely grateful.

  8. Review titled Disappointed by rushing

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 May 2024

I was disappointed this time round Asian the past I have had great service and staff /doctors were excellent but on my last out patient appointment I was not happy as the doctor was late by 30 min and I understand there very busy but I had no apologies and my appointment was rushed and the doctor was seeing my self and a second patient at the same time when I asked questions he said I got to cut you short and went out the room and saw a second patient and then come back to me . I felt that I was left in the dark and my questions went unanswered I have never had this before and I’m due back in 3 months and I don’t want to see the same doctor . When you try to explain what has happened since my last appointment and being told to stop talking and then he goes out sees someone else then comes back it’s not a good experience after I travelled over 50 miles to get to the hospital and had no chance to express my concerns and worry’s sorry but this has made me disheartened. As I always had a very good experience at St George’s but this occasion it is not and has left me feeling very disappointed

  9. Review titled The team were phenomenal!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Will Miles - Posted on 15 April 2024

I recently had a seizure at home which led to an MRI scan that identified a brain tumour. From the very start of the process, the service I received was 10/10. Scans were quick, consultation was booked in ASAP, contact was easy, the hospital stay was fine, all follow up help/questions were answered promptly & everyone was incredibly friendly/supportive throughout. Brain surgery (or any surgery...) is daunting but it certainly helps when the staff are all so nice, cheerful & positive. I can't remember anything from the surgery which I suppose is an indirect compliment to the anaesthetists work. However, the tumour was removed & I was back on my feet the following day so certainly a massive success from my point of view! The scar looks very neat & they only shaved a small section out of my hair (was expecting to be pretty much bald) I would still certainly advise trying to avoid getting a brain tumour in the first place (lol) but if you find yourself with one, be absolutely confident that you're in the safest of hands with the St Gs Neuro team :) Thanks again! Will

  10. Review titled First Class Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I recently attended a long awaited Audiology appointment as an outpatient having been referred by my GP. The care I received was exceptional. I cannot sufficiently express my gratitude for being able to access such a high standard of specialist care.
