  1. Review titled Pre op excellence

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Fast efficient service. Super kind staff, was seen very quickly, particularly by the nurse who gave up a chunk of her lunch break so I didn't have to wait for almost three hours for the second part of my appointment. Thank you so much for your kindness, so much appreciated.

My son has temperature ,cough, headache for the last 5 days so after visit GP and prescribed course of antibiotics we have been told to go A&E as the symptoms hasn’t improved After 8h of waiting on A&E they send us home with no blood results as apparently the lab has huge backlog. They done xRay and urine test and still nobody tell us the results . Nobody check my son temperature , heart , pulse before they send him home . Nobody even offer him painkillers . Is very poor service and definitely someone need to close look to this action.

  4. Review titled Great Drs in a&e. Maternity services are lacking

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 13 February 2023

After being pregnant and having continuous vomiting 111 referred me to the A&E department. Couldn't fault the DR who saw me. With being pregnant I didn't have to wait more than 5 mins to see someone (nurses in the A&E were very kind and caring!) After being on an IV drip a Doctor came to see me who has been the only medical professional to take my HG diagnosis seriously. I was obviously exhausted and she was so understanding and made sure she tried every drug she could before discharging me and made sure my prescription was ready for me the next day. The Nurse who dealt with me for the IV was quite stand offish. She also went off on her shift but didn't inform the DR dealing with me so I waited 2 hrs hooked up to an empty drip and the DR eventually came to find me on her own after wondering what had happened to me. The midwife section however leaves a lot to be desired. Since finding out I was pregnant I might as well have informed a brick wall. I've had one midwife appointment where I was asked health questions (as standard) and my sickness was totally dismissed as 'being pregnant' (I was later thankfully taken serious by the DR in the A&E). Whilst the midwife was pleasant, she was impersonal and I felt like just another number to her. I received no information or even a number to call her on. Instead she just circled an emergency number and told me to call them if it was emergency and I was sent on my way. I'm supposed to have a 16 week check up - I've had nothing.

  5. Review titled Incredible Service at the Colonoscopy Unit.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Vasiliki Kissavou - Posted on 04 February 2023

I was referred to St, George’s Hospital by my GP for a colonoscopy, which I asked for because I like the specific hospital and I was not wrong. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and I felt at all times that I was at the best hands and care. I had the most amazing service at the Colonoscopy Unit (Endoscopy Unit) on the 26th of January at a 15:30 appointment. I really could not have asked for a better experience and so appreciate it. No pain, no nothing. They are very skilful and special people working on the team and are so amazing at what they do. I was very impressed by the quality of medical help, before and after. My previous colonoscopy at another hospital was a disaster and I was crying the whole time. It was a nightmare. I was so afraid. I could not be more impressed from the service I received, they listened very carefully to my responses and there was a great empathy of all of them. Extraordinary stuff. Words really are not enough to convey the level of care I received. The Surgeon who carried out the procedure is beyond awesome, empathetic, caring, thorough with a great manner, extraordinary. Cannot thank you enough. Every single person I came in contact were very friendly, reassuring, empathetic, supportive and professional. Thank you for the bottom of my heart and especially the surgeon who did a fantastic job. Very efficient service from the beginning till the end. They were all so beautiful people, really caring and kind. I have nothing but praise and admiration for all of them, for the hard work they do, their loyalty attention to everything. God bless them all. Felt like I was at 5* hotel. Not an NHS Hospital. And the people make it so gorgeous! St. George’s should be proud of their doctors and nurses and someone at the hospital should pay attention at what good work they are doing. They are people who work very very hard. I believe that St, George’s Hospital should be an example for other hospitals, how they are doing their job efficiently and how they treat patients in an excellent way. Congratulations! Thank you for listening and I really hope that the management will read it.

  7. Review titled Great service, all on time

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by M VERSTAGE (for Harry Suddaby) - Posted on 12 January 2023

Saw a consultant with my grandson, Harry Suddaby. The consultant was very thorough and explained everything clearly. There was no rush. We then needed a blood test but at 12.45 the childrens' blood test centre closed for lunch and we would have had to wait another hour. We live in Farnham Surrey and this was going to prove very difficult as we had other appointments later. A very kind man at reception took us to the adult blood test centre and managed to fit us in, so good. All the staff we spoke to were so pleasant and helpful even though we know that they are under a lot of pressure. Thank you.

  8. Review titled Caring

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Janice Baker - Posted on 29 December 2022

I was sent to St George’s from another hospital after an accident. Despite it being a very busy time of year, the staff were incredibly caring and friendly. I was seen by a lovely lady in the Maxillio facial department she was incredibly knowledgeable when she attended my wound and I felt at all times that I was in good hands. As a result a short time later despite having 16 stitches inside and out it has healed really nicely and I definitely won’t have a visible scar. The wound is on my face so from a confidence point of view this won’t be an issue. Personally I can’t thank the department enough and all the staff I saw on the way. Thank you!

  9. Review titled Came out alive

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I was in the day surgery where the nurses who looked after me once I woke up were lovely. I can not say the same for a couple of the nurses who greeted me. Both had an awful attitude problem, possibly they don’t like their jobs. One of them seemed to think that 10:45am was ‘early’. Maybe they should be made aware that most people start work at 8am.

  10. Review titled Great treatment and care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 November 2022

My prostatectomy operation was preceded by an MRI scan and a biopsy procedure. These were all carried out very promptly and with great skill. I particularly found the Clinical Nurse Specialists excellent. Firstly, they were available by email or telephone to discuss any concerns and this reassurance that someone was contactable was of huge value. They also understood the emotional and personal aspects of the procedures as well as the medical and technical ones and their care, compassion and supportiveness made a massive positive difference. My thanks to them.
