Review titled Disappointing
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 08 March 2025
Thoroughly disappointed and disheartened by the specialist I waited 7 months to see here. I waited 35 minutes past my appointment time to be seen. He gave me the results of tests he had requested and then wanted me to leave minutes after being sat down. He was not willing to listen or discuss the symptoms and medical history that actually brought me to this appointment. Symptoms I have suffered with for years. He did not even do a physical health check during this appointment (which other specialists I have seen have done before) nor did he want to query family history/genetic disorders that can all be linked. I was in the consult room for around 15 minutes and was told he "needed to get on with his work" and was ushering me to leave. I explained that I have waited 7 months to speak to him and would appreciate a discussion about what I have been suffering with however he kept interrupting/talking over me and saying he couldn't help me at all. He then made me feel very uncomfortable saying he is getting another member of staff to witness our conversation. It felt like he was adding pressure to try and make me feel so uncomfortable that I had to leave. His lack of compassion and condescending tone made me feel very belittled. His bed side table manner was simply non existent. I completely understand the NHS is under alot of ongoing pressure. However it can't be forgotten how long patients are waiting to be seen and how rushed and pushed aside they are treated. Patients are not being heard. This is where important information is missed and cases are misdiagnosed.

Review titled Kind, professional and helpful staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5

(24.1.25) I had my bloods taken in the Phleobotomy Clinic today. The phlebotomist who took my bloods (C), was so kind, friendly, professional and efficient. I felt no discomfort during the entire procedure and she made me feel so calm and relaxed. Considering how busy it was in the clinic today, I was so impressed with how efficient and professional (C) was. She made the experience so pleasant and positive. I asked If I could please have her's and her manager's names, as I wished to convey my positive feedback. Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication (C)! :)

Review titled Fantastic service
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was seen within one day of the request. All staff were professional caring and very efficient. This is the third time I have visited this clinic in 3 years and the care and service has always been of the highest order from the receptionist to the health care assistants nurses and doctors. I would particularly like to mention the doctor who performed the ultrasound and surgical intervention, whose name sadly I am not allowed to mention, who I found to be very skilled, his manner was respectful and reassuring and despite it being an extremely busy Friday afternoon clinic he was calm unhurried and answered all my questions with care and thought. Thank you to everyone at this fabulous clinic

Review titled Consultant called in sick
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 12 August 2024
I waited 1 year 3 months for an ENT appointment, for them to call me 1 hour before my appointment saying the consultant had called in sick and pushed my appointment back another 4 months. This is beyond a joke. Nearly 2 years for 1 appointment….

Review titled No contact details and no response
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 05 August 2024
Received a letter in middle of June says respond within 14 days if I still want the appointment, letter dated over 6 weeks prior to arrival. No contact details for department or person. I contacted PALS via email addresses from the NHS website and the hospital website (as they are different) apparently NHS website is wrong trust. Contacted PALS by email and phone multiple times, even used different email addresses in case one was being blocked by spam filter or something similar. I get an automatic reply saying they are busy and will get back to me, but they never do. Left messages on answer machines, again no response. Seem to be clearing waiting lists by just cancelling people off before they are even seen or spoken to. Tried looking up department contact details, nothing listed for them either. Spent hours on the phone, sent half a dozen emails got absolutely no where. Pretty sure my referrals have now been cancelled without even a phone call, like they were made just for a day out or something, rather than actually requiring treatment. Doesn't matter how good the actual service is, if you never get to see anyone.

Review titled Excellent customer service
Rated 5 stars out of 5

On Sunday I had a mri scan this was my second attempt as I had a panic attack on my first. I don't know their title but the man doing my mri went out of his way to make me comfortable and laugh.. His name was Darren a young man.. I was extremely nervous to say the least.. He went above and beyond to help me be as calm as possible, I never felt rushed or stupid for being so scared.. In the end he had me and my daughter who came with me in stitches. I can't thank him enough as I needed to get through this second attempt. I'm leaving this review in the hope he get the credit he deserves. Thank you so much Darren.

Review titled Delightful audiologist
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I did fill in a feedback form at the hospital but felt it didn’t do the person who dealt with us justice. The person was extremely professional and kind having a very clear speaking voice, so helpful with Audiology for the patient. They covered everything we had on our list of questions before we even had to ask them. They really represented NHS at its best. It’s a shame we are not able to name them but I do understand why. Having said this all the staff in the Audiology department are always very helpful and would like to thank them very much.

Review titled Wonderful care and service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Mrs S Prior - Posted on 30 May 2024
I attended the audiology department on Saturday, 25th May to have hearing aids fitted. The audiologist was very kind, very professional and my appointment turned out to be far less daunting than I was expecting. He took time to make sure I was happy with everything and I couldn't fault the attention I received. Thank you!
