Review titled Useless
Rated 2 stars out of 5

We contacted proctologist. Doctor recommended go home and use ice. Doctor didn't examine the patient. Did not prescribe any pills or candles. Just nothing, chocolate fire-guard. I wish I could opt out from paying to nhs. I would better go to private doctor and pay. Recommended to contact gp. Called gp they say call 911. Called 911 they say contact gp or nhs. Guys i wish you die in pain.

Review titled The best treatment for cancer
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Pravina Vandra - Posted on 24 July 2024
I was seen in Radiology within two days of referral, then mammogram, biopsy and within two weeks had my cancer diagnosis, seen in a week and operated within a week with lots of care and consideration. I couldn’t ask for more as I was advised what to expect from the doctor who put me at ease by giving me so much information about my cancer surgery that I never needed to ask for anything else. On the day of surgery when I arrived at the admissions, I was met by a nurse who took me to my bed and told me to take a seat so that she would take my details regarding the procedure like blood pressure, temperature, and blood test. She was so very kind and helpful. Then another nurse came to do the echocardiogram, then Dr came to ask me about how I was feeling and told me that she was going to take me first as I was diabetic which made me very happy. I found that every single person who came to see me to care were so professional and very nice giving me respect and support I was not nervous at all because of their attitude towards not just me but everyone. I just felt absolutely fine and I didn’t feel any pain or discomfort at all even afterwards. I think that this hospital is really the best place for us and I feel so safe and comfortable for my cancer treatment. I can’t praise enough from radiology to the theatre and at discharge also I didn’t have to ask for anything as everyone knew what was happening to the time for lunch and water etc after my surgery. I felt privileged to be there and excellent treatment for my stay in daycare. Who said hospitals are not coping? My experience says that the very best place for me was this hospital which was the one that gave me a lot more than I expected when my first time in cancer treatment was very good. I want everyone to know about this hospital and pray that they can keep up the good work for us. I thank you for your great service and your excellent support to all of us.

by Ruth S - Posted on 04 February 2024
The staff on Gladstone Ward 2 at St Mark's hospital are awesome! They work incredibly hard to ensure excellent patient care, their kindness, patience and compassion shine through. This was my 3rd inpatient stay and the standards are as high as ever. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff both clinical and non clinical led by excellent Sisters on the ward. Thank you!

The lady who is based at Northwick Park Hospital and does admissions for St Marks Hospital is a lovely, cheerful personality who works hard to ensure you have all the correct paperwork to ensure a smooth inpatient transition. Her friendly and kind disposition alleviates the anxiety about going into hospital. She is a credit to the NHS. Thank you!

Review titled Efficient, on time and excellent
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Ai Choo Choo Bennett - Posted on 26 February 2024
I dialled 111, as I needed help to extract an object from my ear. 111 gave me an appointment. I was seen on time and out witthin a minute. The nurse/doctor was very efficient, did not make me feel stupid (even though I was) and very professional. One month later, I dialled 111 again. Same thing. I was given an appointment within 2 hours of my call. I was seen on time and out after a proper examiniation within 5-10 minutes and given a prescription. Very professional and caring.

Could not thank the team more for their service. They made me feel completely at ease and I was met with confident and smiling faces at every step of my procedure.

Review titled Another positive experience
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Amanda Lynne Kelly - Posted on 09 September 2023
My 3rd colonoscopy in the last decade and each time it has been made into a positive experience. Its not just that all staff are knowledgeable, professional and friendly, it's the extras. It's the hand holding, the scooping back my hair when it's hot, the extra cuppa and biscuits when you're waiting to be picked up. It's the friendliness, the understanding and so many seemingly little details that swell into such a huge sense of gratitude to be so well cared for. Thank you so much.

Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. Its lovely to read the impact the staff had on your experience with our Trust. Many procedures or examination can be destressing so to hear all members you had interactions with did their upmost to help at this time is excellent. Review titled Absolutely amazing.

Went in for complex cancer surgery. Was put at ease at every turn. Ended up staying for 6 weeks. Every single person there I found to be professional and very caring. From the surgeons to the domestics. Every one of them went out of their way to make my stay as comfortable as possible. I walked in the hospital with cancer and walked out without. Thanks to each and every one of you involved. Just goes to show that not all angels have wings.

Review titled Not able to contact after over 2hours!
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Amelia - Posted on 30 March 2023
I’m yet to speak to someone from the hospital. I was referred to St Marks Gastro team in January, after 2 months of waiting to hear, I reached the date on my referral letter to get in contact regarding it. I have attempted to reach the outpatients team 6 separate times and after having spent 35-57 minutes on hold each time, the phone has cut off. Today I have attempted through the Teams app and have now been on hold for over 2 hours. The message just says the team is busy on a call. No indication of how long wait times actually are. Since I haven’t heard from them regarding my referral, I’m not sure how I’m supposed to follow up if I cannot get through on their designated phone number. I’m very disappointed with the service after waiting 2 months to hear, while in pain and suffering from my symptoms.

2nd inpatient visit in 4 months to the Gladstone Ward. Had a positive experience first time, duly reviewed. Once again, have nothing but praise for the clinical and non clinical team who work hard to provide excellent and consistent care. Their dedication is awesome!! they truly live the NHS values, commitment to quality of care, respect and dignity for all patients, I have been so grateful to the team in the Gladstone Ward. All I can offer is biscuits and thank you cards each visit, but they all deserve so much more.
