  1. Review titled Good Level of Care

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Howard - Posted on 28 May 2024

I had an appointment with the Audiology department for a hearing problem. This is also known as the Hearing and Balance Department. The young lady I had the appointment with was attentive, patient, and communicated well. She explained what she was about to do, and what the next steps are. The whole appointment was very pleasant. The only negative was getting from the Waiting area to the Treatment Room. It is down a very short walk-way that has a few twists and turns in it, and then a ramp. This is not really suitable for someone with balance problems and totally unsuitable for someone in a wheelchair or someone pushing a wheelchair. The width isn't really wide enough and the turns are to tight. This makes the ramp less than a foot long. Anyone with balance problems, (or sight or mobility issue's), would struggle to get to any of the treatment rooms. Frimley Health Foundation Trust needs to assess this with some urgency.

Dear Howard, Thank you for your posting and please accept my apologies for the delay in responding. We are pleased to learn that you were happy with your care and treatment with our Hearing and Balance team. I will share your feedback with staff concerned and I am sure they will appreciate this. Regarding your feedback concerning the route from the waiting area to the treatment room, we have reviewed this. The ramp access off the road to the pavement meets the legal requirements regarding size and space. We tried a couple of wheelchairs on it and managed it well with a manual push chair. If it was an electric wheelchair, which is bigger, this may be more difficult. However, there are currently no plans to make any changes to it. I hope that this addresses your concerns. Please contact me if you would like to discuss this further. Alternatively, you could contact your local Healthwatch organisation for assistance. 2. Review titled Relief

Rated 5 stars out of 5

A little bit of 'how it used to be' is still around. A quaint old hospital with helpful and friendly staff all around when I was enquiring about where the Podiatry Dept was. On arriving at the department I felt relaxed and then I was called in and welcomed by two relaxed and friendly staff. The lady on the computer carefully took my history details and the podiatrist cut my toe nails and removed two corns. They couldn't have been more pleasant and now I'm enjoying great relief. Thank you.
