Review titled Okay service
Rated 3 stars out of 5

The dermatology doctors and nurses made me feel very comfortable attending the appointment but the wait time was over an hour and 30 minutes passed my appointment time. The parking at the hospital is shocking and more spaces need to be made available otherwise you have to be at your appointment a hour prior so you can drive around for over 25 minutes to get a space. I did change my address and doctors surgery with the department receptionist and my address was changed but my surgery was not so all correspondence has been sent to my old surgery which is now going to delay my prescription etc... I have tried to call the department for the last 3 days and not been able to get through to anyone who could help. I have had to leave a voicemail on the nurses station about it and hope someone comes back to me.

Instructions for phlebotomy opening days/times so ridiculously fast I had to listen 3 times. E mail confirmation too long and fiddly switching between cases. Buck up ! We’re not all 12. Just print the opening times details on st Mary’s front page !

My doctor sent me a text link to book a blood test, the line is closed but the website gives the same information? Very confusing and not helpful.

Review titled Thank you

I'm very grateful to all the staff at the walk-in injuries unit where I attended after slipping and breaking my wrist. I attended the fractures clinic today, where the doctor said 'Whoever did the manipulation did a great job'. So thank you for making a good alignment. I should make a full recovery.

New phone system is awful, constant music and never answered. Spent several days trying to contact to no avail. Please return to previous method with a receptionist based in the department.

Review titled Phonephobic

Ring ring Ring ring Ring ring Ring ring Ring ring Ring ring. That noise you hear is called the telephone and its purpose is to be picked up if it is making a loud noise. The reason for picking the phone up is because somebody is attempting to calling your department to make an appointment. It should be answered with the following "Hello, st Mary's phlebotomy department, how many I help you?" How is one to make an appointment if you leave it to endlessly ring. I have to call multiple times throughout the day to book a test. I experience this every time I call this department. It is incredibly frustrating

Review titled Excellent service
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I came to the clinic with my Dad who has alzheimer's. He was anxious and almost decided not to attend. On arrival he was calmed immediately by the friendliness of everyone and the bright and airy atmosphere. The doctor and nurse attending were so kind and reassuring. A very good experience.

Review titled Unprofessional and abrupt behaviour
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 14 December 2022
I arrived for a scheduled appointment in the phlebotomy clinic and waited behind the curtain as directed by the other phlebotomist. (Obviously you can hear conversations taking place and this individual was pleasant to the elderly patient before me.) Next thing I know I hear a voice barking at me like a drill sergeant to ‘Come on in!’. I’m slightly puzzled as I couldn’t identify where the voice was coming from. They shout the same thing again and I rise from my chair and ask are they talking to me. Now, being ex healthcare I know the professional thing to do would be to greet the patient and ask them to confirm their identity. Not this individual. Clearly getting off the chair is an issue for them. I walk over and I’m greeted by an unfriendly hostile individual who demands my form. I’ve not even had chance to remove my belongings and by this point I can feel my mood sinking. I take a seat and the next thing I’m being asked is a personal medical question which is unanswerable being the reason why I am there. (The form even indicates the medical reason.) I’ve had plenty of blood tests in my time and none of them have been as rough as this encounter. Not once was this person friendly or polite (no introduction/ greeting occurred) which made me think I have been categorically stereotyped based on first impressions and the fact I have a foreign name. The thing is this. You don’t know who is going to walk through your door nor do you know their circumstances however I do expect to be treated like a human being with dignity and respect.
