  1. Review titled Exceptional

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Julia Sharland - Posted on 25 February 2023

I would like to express my gratitude to all the staff at St.Michael’s Hospital, Hayle. From the minute I arrived to leaving, every member of staff I encountered was kind, friendly and incredibly accommodating. I was on St.Joseph’s Ward. The staff should be very proud of the gold star service they are providing. Thank you.

Absolutely fantastic care at the St Michaels Hand Clinic, Hayle, from appointment to treatment. Everything was thoroughly explained and considered, could not have asked for better care or treatment.

  4. Review titled A steroid injection into my hand

    by indusrf43 - Posted on 01 December 2022

I have been experiencing pain in my middle finger joint for a long time, but it had become so bad it was painful in everything I did. After an x-ray which showed it was bone on bone, I was referred to St Michael's. The lovely doctor I saw was so friendly and helpful. She was kind, gentle and tried to help in every way she could. She said she thought a steroid injection might help, but not guaranteed. In the meantime, she gave me advice on how to strap it to limit the pain. I received an appointment within 6 weeks. The injection itself was painful, but I was warned about that. It's been one week since the injection, and my finger has stopped hurting totally!! I am amazed and delighted. The doctor told me it might or might not work, she also said there were no guarantees on how long it would last, but for the time being I am pain free. The hospital and every person I met in the two visits I made were professional, caring, thoughtful, smiling and lovely. I cannot praise the NHS enough. Too many people complain, not enough give praise. I totally respect these people who work to help others - in fact one nurse was working on her day off.
