On hold for 1 hour after being told I was 4th in the queue. I have waited since April for an appointment to be started on blood thinners. I haven’t received any contact by phone email or letter.

Review titled Staff were great.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Dawn - Posted on 15 August 2024
I visited the gastroenterology department outpatients 15/08/2024 with my dad. The staff were really helpful. The department was running a little late but we were spoken to to explain this. The department felt very organised and the staff worked well as a team. They were very welcoming. A very pleasant experience.

Arrived at Stepping Hill, Grounds surrounding the hospital all clean and a very calming atmosphere despite some construction underway. Scanning department staff from admin to Radiology so friendly, kind and considerate, excellent service.

Review titled accident and emergency theatre and Ward M4
Rated 5 stars out of 5

mum has dementia and unfortunately broke her hip. Dreading going to the hospital as previously other hospitals were not a good experience. From accident and emergency to being on the ward with the most amazing staff. Unfortunately mum became end of life due to other illnesses that were not linked, they arranged everything to get my mum home to her own home as quickly as possible. I can never thank all you angels for what you have done for us as a family. You’ve restored our faith in the national health service . With such care, compassion you have given us much needed special time with our mum. Not forgetting the much used cafes even the staff there were also amazing.

Review titled Worst hospital in the eorld
Rated 1 star out of 5

Unfortunately! I have warn people about this extremely dangerous hospital. I was involved in an accident and i was knocked unconscious, i arrived at Stepping hill hospital and the waiting room was full Now! Under no circumstances did i wish to jump the queue in front of seriously ill people I did expect that the hospital would at least see i had been seen by triage in the first two hours. A head injury and Stepping hill hospital think it makes sense to wait 2 hours Whats worse is when i approached the desk i was told 10/12 people in front of me I Left! Now! I decided to go to Macclesfield hospital as i had been in pain all night This is what happened !within 20 minutes i had been to reception examination by triage blood taken The doctor saw me and was caring and extremely knowledgeable I was free to leave in under three hours I had concussion supplied with pain killers and information Stepping hill is a lost cause A hospital that does not care !

Review titled Amazing nurses made me feel safe
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Chloe - Posted on 02 August 2024
I recently came in for a colonoscopy which I was quite nervous about and having a stutter only makes everything a little bit more stressful, but I honestly cannot thank everybody enough for their patience and genuine care I felt whilst I was there. Particularly during the procedure itself I experienced a fair level of discomfort and pain however the nurses in the room made me feel so safe and cared for throughout. Everyone I encountered from the receptionists to the last nurse I spoke with who looked after me after the procedure, honestly thank you all so much.

Review titled Great all round care
Rated 5 stars out of 5

My daughter came to the hospital to have her baby. From the start she told me the staff were lovely. I was allowed to be with her when she went to the Labour ward with the pool. The midwives and students were so kind and helpful. My daughter unfortunately had to go to theatre. The Consultant was so kind and reassuring as we're all the staff. The Anaethatist was very thorough explaining what would happen. My daughter was reassured as she went to theatre. I cannot praise all the staff enough - and my daughter's baby was delivered safe and sound, all such a credit to Stepping Hill Hospital. Thank you to all who were involved.

Review titled Worst Management
Rated 2 stars out of 5

I went there because of a fall and I was there for almost 17hours. At first I was seen by a Dr who was nice and he did some checks and said I didn’t broke anything due to fall. But I was still in so much pain . So he referred me to another spine specialist dr from that hospital . She checked me and asked me to do a MRI and also informed that they don’t do MRI during night time so she asked me to go home and she will call me to inform me whatever I have to go for MRI to Salford hospital. I came back home with so much pain with the help of my partner but after we reached home she immediately call us back and asked us to go to Salford. My partner requested if we can wait until morning and come for MRI but she told us to go immediately. We went there by booking a cab with so much pain but then she called back again and told that that hospital won’t accept us unless we go by an ambulance. We had to return all the way back to stepping hill but there was no ambulance waiting for us. We had to wait for another 5 hours for an ambulance. It was all unnecessary thing as we went to Salford in the morning . Stepping hill hospital could sort it out without harassing us.

Review titled Fabulous assessment and care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Karen Knowles - Posted on 04 June 2024
My husband was admitted on Sunday evening after experiencing a mini stroke. All staff (two doctors and a nurse specialist) were excellent - really knowledgeable (obviously!) and explained everything very clearly to us. He was given a CT scan very soon after arrival and the results were interpreted for us soon after. The professionalism and knowledge of the staff was extremely reassuring and we appreciated that they kept family in the loop, as well as their fantastic care for my husband.

Review titled No sandwiches available.
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Christine Barlow - Posted on 12 June 2024
Husband had an appointment but was taken ill and ended up in A&E . I tried to get a sandwich from the restaurant, oak shop and Costa coffee. Not one of the above had any available. Very poor service ,from a hospital as big as this.
