Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Gerry Gibson - Posted on 21 June 2024
I had 2 appointments first one on the 14 th of June, the reception staff where very helpful and the clinical staff were very efficient and made me feel very comfortable. My 2nd appointment was on the 19 th for a bladder check with a camera and also a prostrate check once again I was put at ease, and both procedures were uncomfortable but painless the specialist and staff were excellent and my appointment was at 2.15 pm and I left at 2.35

Review titled My stroke experience
by Garethc970 - Posted on 18 January 2024
I went to ward e58 in Sunderland and I have got to say while one the scariest times ever, everyone was so nice and friendly and helpful, even when I was alone on Christmas Day. I eventually got out just before new year thanks to their support.

Review titled Poor follow up service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Charles Johnson - Posted on 12 December 2023
It has been over 4 weeks since I had an appointment, where it was decided I needed an increase in medication. My local GP has not received a letter to implement this and I keep being advised that the letter is waiting to be signed before it can be sent

I ve visited the Urology Dept for tests requested by Outpatient-services. The Unit is so organised from the moment I ve entered. All the team are really professional and of high standard level of practice , very compassionate and dedicated to involve senior consultants who spared no effort to explain and reply to every querry. I ve really felt Safe and very grateful to everyone of the staff in Urology Au .Thanks a lot.

Review titled Outstanding service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 03 April 2023
Arrived yesterday with my son, as he had an accident which resulted in a trip to urgent care for suspected broke wrists. From arrival reception staff could see how distressed my son was with the pain and could see his wrist swelling as we were checking in they quickly got a member of the triage team to put in a sling on to elevate this. I could not fault any member of staff their service was second to none for my son and really appreciate how they do prioritise the most serious injuries. My son had a really bad brake and received the best treatment from arriving yesterday to leaving today after an operation. Thank you all yous all are amazing

Review titled Thankful patient
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Was admitted to the RVI after falling at work, banging the side of my head off the floor, damaging my mastoid bone and causing a bleed on the brain. Was in ICU then high dependency for one week then rehabilitation for one month, ending up in Sunderland Royal for the last week. Every single person in both hospitals were amazing making me feel very special. I cannot speak highly enough of all of them.

Review titled Amazing Service
by Elizabeth - Posted on 14 January 2023
I was referred to The Urgent Treatment Centre by 111 when I was unable to get a GP appointment. I did not even know it existed and it really exceeded all expectations. Every single member of staff were caring and efficient in the Urgent Care Centre, Adult A and E and Sunderland Day Emergency Centre. I was thoroughly assessed and diagnosed all within 3 hours. The facilities were comfortable and I was even offered a cup of tea while I waited for the results. Well done for this amazing service and the dedicated and brilliant staff (and medical student from Newcastle University). I left not only with a diagnosis and advice but also peace of mind. Thank you so much. You should all be very proud of yourselves.

Review titled Thank you for your kindness when my nana died
by Sarah2023 - Posted on 01 January 2023
I would like to say a huge thank you to the staff working on C31 in December on a night shift (I’m afraid I didn’t catch names). My nana was admitted to this ward where sadly she rapidly declined and passed away in the early hours of the morning. One of the nurses on the ward had kindly spoken to me in a very calm manner (via telephone), in particular when I couldn’t process what was happening. As I was travelling from Scotland and unable to make it to her before her passing, the staff on the ward had kindly allowed her body to remain in a resting environment where both me and my sister were able to spend time saying our goodbyes to her. The auxiliary/ care assistant had kindly made me a cup of tea too and checked to make sure that both me and my sister were okay. I was also able to speak to the doctor that morning with no questions asked where he was able to explain the diagnosis in more detail. And again, thank you for taking your time to do that as I know you had to be called in to speak to me specifically. Thank you ward C31.

Review titled In need of surgery
by Mary Eileen Garvey - Posted on 11 April 2024
I am trying to find out when my surgery will be. Two years ago I was turning fifty and taking off the list? I was turned down because I had a slightly low iron count! Last November I was referred again by my doctor. I was told that I needed knee replacement and given a time off eight months to a year. Now after making an inquiry I have been told 15months to 18 months? Is this from last November or from today’s date? I wish that they would keep me updated. Now I can’t walk. These delays are horrendous.
