Review titled Excellent & quick services
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Stephen Smith - Posted on 23 September 2024
I was diagnosed with prostate cancer earlier this year and operated on in September. Everyone from diagosis, through; choice of treatment; operation; aftercare were brilliant. Diagnosis and exploration was very thourough. The whole process took less than 4 months from diagnosis to post-op and I was only in hospital for one night. My grateful thanks to all consultants, doctors, nurses and other staff.

Review titled Fabulous staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Sarah - Posted on 25 September 2024
I was sent to A&E today by 111 with palpitations and tightness in chest. I have a terrible medical phobia but was put at ease immediately. Every staff member I saw was friendly, kind and professional. Every step was explained to me and waiting times were pretty good considering how busy it was! The staff here are a real credit to the NHS

Review titled Horrible experience by horrible nurse
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Gaynor - Posted on 20 September 2024
I was told by my gp to attend a@E. The nurse who called me rolled her eyes and sighed and spoke with utter disdain making me feel like wasting time. Aged 55 and first time I've been to a@E in my life. Still hoping to be sorted by my own Gp. Disgusting. It's not my fault she was having a bad shift. Don't work there if it's not for you

Just wanted to thank the staff at Sunderland Urgent Care Centre. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. I received treatment for a cut to my hand and the Nurse Practitioner was excellent. Thank you for your help.

Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Jazzy A - Posted on 15 August 2024
I have been in hospital for eight days and I cannot fault the staff or physios who are helping me recover. The physio team are really helpful and they motivate me to always do my best (I’m still in hospital) but I just wanted to thank all of the staff on d48 and physio for helping me feel better. I feel amazing!!!

Review titled Outstanding ENT Consultant/Surgeon
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by B Roe - Posted on 17 May 2024
A consultant and surgeon in the ENT Department has taken care of me since my tumour surgery and radiotherapy in 2021. In my most recent visit (as with all previous visits) his examination was thorough, his explanations were clear, his knowledge and advice were excellent, and he was compassionate and listened carefully. I continue to have complete confidence in his surgical and clinical care. Five stars aren't enough.

Review titled Nurse Assistant No empathy
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Witnessed Enough Failures - Posted on 02 May 2024
There are nurses here who suffer from chronic lack of professionalism and empathy. Visited A&E after my partner was brought in by ambulance through excellent care from paramedic who gave her morphine at home to reduce the pain. As expected it wore off after a while and her pain between her rib cage and lungs came back rapidly. I asked a nurse, the first one did not request the doctor to prescribe morphine. As usual, with nurses here you have to ask twice otherwise it will cost you, one day! I did ask a different nurse and turns out the first nurse did not request it. It got worse because when I asked at another time a nurse assistant, the one in brown clothes - she was set engrossed in a conversation. Despite politely asking her she responded moodily asking me to wait and responding with the most foul looking face and mouth! I only told her straight that is un expected behaviour and rude. She just went about other patients, but not addressing the patient with dignity who is in pain. Well it happens I am a professional in customer services and work in a capacity that covers NHS. I know some are frustrated , but to equally bring her own life issues to work is disdain and dissapointing to other NHS professionals who do their job with pride ! Moral of the story , ask staff twice to confirm actions or requests are carried out. And importantly correct and call out any poor behaviour. It helps other patients get better treatment too.
