  1. Review titled Terrible

Rated 1 star out of 5

My sister broke her leg on Friday, was in urgent care, they said no X-ray available so booked her an app for Saturday. We attended, someone had failed to book the app, so was in a total of 6 hours. Co firmed break but doctors don’t operate on bank holiday weekend so sent home! Sent home with an actual broken leg, absolutely unbelievable the state of the NHS. Waiting room overflowing with people waiting hours to be seen, people sitting on floors, no wheelchairs for those with broken bones. And the attitude of front desk staff is appalling, seen happier funeral directors

  2. Review titled Amazing treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sharen Dobson - Posted on 16 May 2023

I have to say the follow up to my operation that happened 2 weeks ago for a broken ankle at the fracture clinic today was amazing. The staff at the fracture clinic, from reception, the plaster room (especially them), x-ray and suite 3 were honestly fantastic. Thank you for your compassion, for your kindness and for your efficiency. I had a bad experience on the ward 2 weeks ago but that was not necessarily down to the staff but a lack of understanding around Autism and how it can have an impact on people staying in hospital. The fracture clinic staff and some of the staff during my stay really are worth their weight in gold. I hope this review finds it way to the staff who helped me today. You made a visit that was very difficult for me, that bit easier because of your understanding. Thank you so much.

  4. Review titled Urgent operation

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I have some spinal problems, that are very painful. I was told that I'll be having an operation and the Dr will put it through as urgent, and they'll get back to me. I am young person and it's playing on my mind, so I gave them a call to see how long roughly the wait will be.. I was told 2-3 months... I don't know if that's normal waiting, but for the same exact operation 10 years ago, it took 2 weeks roughly from meeting the surgeon to the actual operation. I understand it's not easy for the NHS but for an operation that is urgent I expected it to be quicker than 2-3 months.

Hello, we are sorry to hear you are in pain and that your potential operation will be 2-3 months from now. We can't comment for specific services but there are a number of reasons why waiting times have increased in general. One reason being the Covid 19 pandemic and the impact this had on the NHS. If you are in pain please return to your G.P. who will be able to support you. They may also be able to expedite your appointment at hospital.

  6. Review titled Amazing support and Care!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Steph Mahan - Posted on 29 April 2023

Thankyou to all of the brilliant staff working on the maternity ward during our stay 16/4/23-21/04/23. I was induced on the 16/04/23 and from the minute we arrived on the morning I felt very well looked after, our daytime midwife was absolutely amazing, very supportive and kept me going all the way until her shift had ended when the nightshift midwife took over who again was amazing and helped me through my c section early hours of the next morning, the surgeon/doctors/nurses that did my c -section made me feel so calm throughout and did an incredible job, I still cannot believe how amazing the experience was they are truly amazing at what they do ! Once we were back in our room recovering the midwives/nurses/doctors/health cares were all fabulous, nothing was ever too much and they all worked extremely hard to look after us as well as everyone else, we cannot thank you all enough for everything you did for us and making sure our daughter arrived into the world safely, we were discharged 21/04/23 but then had a few trips to the neonatal department for bloods to be taken, again the staff were brilliant !! Thankyou all at the maternity department!! Xxx

  8. Review titled Upsetting Experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 30 March 2023

After seeking medical advise from 111 website which directed us to call 999 which then directed us to A&E, which then it led for us to shouted at by the doctor at the end for wasting his time. I understand that the nurses and doctors are over worked, but there was no need for the doctor's attitude. We were only following instructions, being told what to do by the 111 website.

  9. Review titled Urgent care department - quick, helpful and great service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 August 2023

Just wanted to say how quick and good the urgent care department were today. We had a fractured knee and we’re seen within 30 minutes of been there and sent for x ray before returning to be seen again. They couldn’t have done enough and the whole process was quick and easy.

Dexcom which is a Continuous Glucose Monitoring system provided to aid better help with controlling my Type 1 Diabetes I have had for 53 years. Nurse explained use very precisely and was very helpful when applied transmitter myself. All staff are very polite and courteous. I was transferred to Sunderland hospital from Durham (at my request) and have found that they are more helpful than I have had before.
