I was put on a waiting list for urology appointment and someone in the urology department decided to email my GP and cancel it. 2 years later am at the beginning of a waiting list with stepping hill, and palls can’t give me a answer why I was taken off the list, am absolutely disgusted and so frustrated I am suffering on a daily basis with my condition and tameside hospital are covering for someone who made this mistake, I don’t do reviews but am absolutely disgusted

  2. Review titled First Class Service

I went to A&E the day after I'd fallen off my motorbike. I was triaged and it was decided that I should have a CT scan and some x-rays. I spent 6 hours in the department which I feel is great service considering that they assessed me, scanned and X-rayed me, analysed the results and then explained the results to me. All whilst dealing with all the real emergency cases that were coming in. Every person I met was friendly and professional. I am back home recovering thanks to their care and attention. All this from a free to use service. Thank you to all the hard working people in the A&E department. It is very much appreciated.

  3. Review titled Worst hospital with 2 star ratings on google

Rated 1 star out of 5

Never recommend this hospital to even worst enemy. I have had Pneumonia for one year gp sent me referral to be seen by Tameside I i wanted my referral to go to Manchester hospital but gp said it’s not up to him it’s the booking office decide that. I got referral to see respiratory specialist he said I need endoscopy and biopsy and mri with pet scan . My pet scan is at Manchester hospital as Tameside don’t have this machine and my biopsy and endoscopy is at Tameside I got the endoscopy and biopsy done hear at Tameside and this doctor at Tameside Had done this after this surgery I have got savere pain in both lungs and I called respiratory secretary told her about this pain she said she spoken to consultant he said I should go to Tameside A:E when I attend there they have special doctors for respiratory they can come to see me but I need to go to hospital so I attended the A:E at Tameside told them the problem also told the receptionist I have pet scan at 4 we came to hospital at 1pm it was now 2.35 we just got triaged now at 237 we told the receptionist we have pet scan at Manchester hospital we will miss it if they don’t see us urgently the receptionist at a:e said you have to sit like others and wait. So we waited until 330 and couldn’t wait anymore we would have missed the scan . I would like to say this hospital has no level of understanding between patient and it’s the worst ever hospital attended . The hospital secretary at respiratory was worst ever secretary if she had spoken to doctors we were under they should have seen us because he had done the surgery . I rang the hospital spoken to Secetery told her I want my care changed to Manchester hospital I’m not happy she kept insisting to close my file from Tameside I told her I need to speak to gp to get it changed she kept saying do you want me to close the file hear how rude of her. If I not spoken to gp to have it changed what gives secatery the right to have my file closed if I said no she can’t close it. Very bad experience very bad hospital and it’s handing of patients. Phenomia is not just cough or something it’s very dangerous but to this hospital it’s a little pat on back . Worst ever hospital rude ae staff rude specialist secaterys Will speak to gp to have it moved to Manchester hospital

  4. Review titled Shameful experience

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I was kept on I think ward 43 when I had back issues in May , I had my own room then went into another four bedded female ward. All other 3 ladies were late 70s.One lady had onset of Parkinsons, at meal times they left food and didn't feed her on several occasions...I had to feed her. I also heard she had bed sores and was not on the correct air mattress...later that night she complained of headaches, sweating I told staff she was not well ....16 hours exactly she had taken a turn for worse I said she needs checking her blood pressure had plummeted temperature of 38 something...within minutes staff giving her fluids medication.... However if I hadn't have said anything would they know. My partner asked about her the following day as he had gone to get medication..staff said they couldn't say anything but my partner said there expression said a 1000 words. I don't know if this lady is well or not. I do know that if anything has happened there lack of care and notice I witnessed was bad . Lastly ladies at side of me had a broken hip was taken for a scan the air mattress wasn't plugged in when back and staff just laughed and said not again!!! I wouldn't use this hospital for anything....I would drive to another if not seriously ill. As I said to them you might spend 20 million on the outer buildings but you need another 20 million to sort your staff out. Avoid

  5. Review titled Excellent Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

On Wednesday April 10th 2024 I was admitted to TGH A&E after suffering a fall at home resulting in a head wound which would not stop bleeding. The Ambulance arrived within 20 minutes of calling and I was taken straight into a cubicle and seen by a doctor promptly. The care I received was 100% by everyone who attended to me. I cannot fault the care given and I am grateful to all concerned. Thank You.

Was sent to tameside hospital by my doctor. Ambulance ride within 10 minutes and was taken straight to the hospital. Was seen quickly and soon given a bed. The staff and cleaners were very friendly and helpful. Second time in tameside hospital with heart attack in 20 year. The hospital does a excellent job. The staff have a hard job to do. But does it excellent.

  7. Review titled excellent service for attending sdec dept with chest pains

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Glossop man - Posted on 22 March 2024

From first attending on Mon 18th as a referral from my GP I could not find anything wrong with the excellent service I received. From the staff member who brought me a cup of tea and a sandwich in the Same Day Emergency Care department to the nurses and doctors. Not to mention the very polite chap who escorted me to the CT scanner unit

I have recently had major surgery in the Orthopaedic department at TGH and cannot recommend my treatment highly enough. From my first appointment with the consultant, through to appointments, pre-op, theatre, ward and aftercare, everyone was professional, friendly, efficient and caring. I could not have had better treatment anywhere. Thank you to all concerned.

  9. Review titled Terrible

Rated 1 star out of 5

Has any of the managers gone and sat in those hospital seats in the A&E waiting room? Try sitting in them for nearly 5 hours, they do not support your back, you can’t even sit back in some because that would mean leaning your head against someone else’s head behind you, or if you are sitting in the metal chairs near the 2 toilets (in the whole of the waiting room) as they are bent back. It’s ok though you can amuse yourself watching the tv bearing in mind there’s only 1 position you can see it from. An elderly gentleman wanted some water but no water dispenser available. I challenge the managers to go and sit in those seats for 4 hours? Can you do it? Or did it look so good on paper! I’m now in bed for the 3rd day running with pain in my arthritic back because of the chairs. I didn’t go to A&E with my back! Try and see from a patient’s viewpoint what it is actually like sitting there. Or did you think of you made it comfortable we would voluntary stay longer? 1 tv ? And you can’t even see it. We go to A&E in a vulnerable state, praying our name will be called next, go and see what it’s like for the real people who are waiting.

  10. Review titled What happened to Children’s A&E?

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 March 2024

Spent 4 hours with a 6 year old in the walk in centre as thought it would be quicker and less traumatic than a&e? What happened to the children’s section, nobody signposted us to it? It was built way before covid but not been mentioned since?
