    I came off birth control 2 years ago to start a family. Unfortunately, my body has not gone back to its normal state. I was diagnosed with PCOS where they referred me to the Gynae Department at Tameside Hospital. They originally advised that the wait would be 6 weeks. I have been waiting for 39 weeks at the moment. I ring to check and they just advise I just need to wait and this is all they can do. So frustrating, as I am struggling and want to start a family!

    I am sorry to read about your experience relating to the waiting time for an appointment with the Gynaecology department at Tameside and Glossop ICFT. Unfortunately, we have experienced some increases in waiting times within our Gynaecology Department, which is also being experienced nationally.     I came into A&e wanting the Walk In Centre after suffering extreme pain in my ovaries. Was told that it was required for me to stay in A&e; understandable. In triage I was quite anxious and stressed as I am not a fan of hospitals, and was basically ignored by the nurse taking my blood pressure. After an Akg and bloods, I was called by a doctor only to end up walking around the corridors for several minutes. He then says there is no rooms for me, and in the corridor in earshot of other patients and staff, he tells me he thinks I have Endometriosis. Obviously upset, I was then promptly told to go back into the waiting room and was left for hours again before being told I would be referred to a gynaecologist. Unprofessional, insensitive and would not return to this A&e department.

    I was very sorry to read about your experience when you attended the Emergency Department at Tameside Hospital. Your feedback has been shared with the Department for learning so that they can understand your experience and the impact this had on you. Unfortunately, the Emergency Department has seen an increase in the number of patients attending and the acuity of their needs, and at times this has limited space in the Department. However, I am sorry that you felt you were not treated with more compassion at what must have been a difficult time, and though the experience you describe was not positive, I would like to thank you for sharing this.     I just want to say a big thank you to staff on A&E, Resus and AMU for looking after me nearly two weeks ago. I felt so poorly when I got there, thanks again for looking after me.

    I recently had a tooth extraction under IV sedation as a very anxious dental patient, the 3 young ladies who carried out my procedure were professional and did there utmost best to put me at ease and talk me through the entire process. They made me feel comfortable and made what could have been a traumatic experience as pleasant as could be. Thank you for your professionalism, knowledge and for being such lovely people. For anyone else worried or anxious about procedures like this I would recommend this service.

I was sorry to read about your anxiety as you approached your dental procedure but I am very glad that staff were able to support you at this time and put you at ease.     Yesterday I attended Tameside Day Surgery clinic for a breast procedure. My experience from beginning to end was welcoming, supportive and organised. From the reception staff through to the nursing team and doctors I experienced help and kindness. From arrival to discharge I was always made to feel safe in their care. As a nurse myself I think people often forget that we are patients sometimes too! My visit to Tameside left me feeling proud to be part of such a caring and hardworking workforce!! Keep up the good work you are doing an amazing job and you really are appreciated so Thank-you!! Xxx

    I attended A&E after speaking to 111 and a clinical advisor in the CT department, both of who said that my ongoing symptoms required an emergency visit. After a very very long wait, the doctors were dismissive and derogatory. I left in tears and am worried about my health, as I am struggling to carry out everyday tasks and work.

    Attended on am of 5th Sept. Could see it was rather busy. Staff were obviously very stretched, however very polite and courteous despite the environment. Was assessed, treated and seen by the specialist team from ENT who were just as professional and polite. Please pass my thanks onto both teams. Credit to the service

    Been here many times over the years, this visit I'm leaving feeling royalty, as will near every other patient, all staff were amazing from check in to check out, place is spotless clean but couldnt say about food as I couldn't eat, so surgery done it went well and the next patient can't move through amd leave hopefully as happy as I am

    i would like to thank all the cardio resitory pre op prep team for the quality communication while I was waiting to enter the operation room for surgery on 11/08/2022, they were very proffesional also the consultant and nurse gillian who let me know where thay were up to in the pre prep, the operation was a success and i`m glad to be back at home recovering, the only issue i had was i normally on previos operations recived a copy of the consent form, which i did not this time, over all everything went great
