Review titled Walking Miracle:My Remarkable Patient Experience
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Rosemary Plum - Posted on 19 April 2024
It's hard to put into words the gratitude and awe I feel towards the entire team at Manor Hospital that recently guided me through the transformative experience of having a complete hip replacement. From the initial consultation to the post-operative care, every step of my journey was marked by professionalism, compassion, and unwavering dedication to my well-being and it was all as an NHS patient. My deepest gratitude goes to the brilliant orthopaedic consultants who orchestrated the entire process with surgical precision. They have been unwavering in their pursuit of the cause of the pain I'd tolerated for such a long time. The expertise of the anesthaesia and theatre nursing teams filled me with confidence and alleviated the apprehension I had about surgery. I knew I was in capable hands, and their meticulous attention to detail instilled a sense of trust that will stay with me for a very long time. No surgery is complete without the invaluable support of the physiotherapy team, whose dedication has played a pivotal role in my rehabilitation. Under their guidance, my tailored exercise regimen is restoring mobility and strength in just a few weeks. Their patience, encouragement, and personal approach really empowered me to take an active role in my recovery, helping me regain my independence. Beyond the operating theatre, I was surrounded by a network of unsung heroes—the wider hospital staff—who looked after me with kindness, efficiency and unwavering care. From the nurses to the administrative staff who seamlessly coordinated my appointments, their collective efforts created a supportive environment where I could focus solely on my recovery. Their tireless dedication behind the scenes did not go unnoticed, and I am grateful for their contributions to my journey. Reflecting on my experience, I cannot help but feel like a walking miracle—an embodiment of the remarkable combination of medical expertise and human compassion. What could have been a daunting ordeal was transformed into a journey of resilience, hope, and profound gratitude for the successful hip replacement. All thanks to the exceptional individuals who guided me every step of the way. I wholeheartedly endorse the superb care provided by the entire team at Manor Hospital. To anyone embarking on a similar journey, I would like to reassure you with my incredibly positive experience. A walking miracle? Perhaps. But more importantly, a testament to the extraordinary capabilities of the human spirit and the remarkable individuals who dedicate their lives to healing others.

Review titled The worse experience of my life
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 07 June 2024
Worse experience of my life. Have never been so badly messed around by an NHS service provider in my life. Sent to the manor by circle saw the surgeon who agreed my hip needed doing urgently, given a date for the op of 18dec 23. Was given a date for the pre-op. This was done by someone who I found quite rude. A month before my operation date, it was cancelled. I was then given a date of 8th January 24. Twodays before this it was cancelled by phone because the anaesthetist decided I was too complicated a case to have on the table. I have had no written notification of this or apology from this hospital. I then found myself referred back to circle and have been put on a 69 week waiting list at Bedford Hospital. Thanks very much manor and circle.

Review titled Very Poor Experience
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 30 October 2023
Unfortunately my review is not good and I am actually changing private hospitals after a very poor level of customer care received. I had some symptoms which were causing me great concerns and anxiety that it could be something far more serious so I went to my local private hospital. After a good initial consultation with a Urology consultant where I was recommended to have further tests, which happened within reason able timeframes, I was then left with no contact for a number of weeks. I was left worrying and still suffering from my symptoms which were and still are impacting my daily life, prior to me having to chase the hospital / direct consultant via their secretary only to be told that they were trying to book another test which couldn't be schedule for at least 5/6 weeks stating that this was the reason for no contact. I have subsequently received absolutely no further communication from the Doctor or their secretary since raising my concerns as to why I am having to chase them and wait so long.....so that leaves me only one option to change private hospital and all the administrative work that comes with that as soon as I can as I have no belief, confidence or faith in their abilities given a level of customer care that I have simply never experienced or heard of before. For clarity, I was saw a Urology consultant so obviously wouldn't recommend them to anyone, but I cannot comment on any of the hospital's other services or employee's as I have had no engagement / interactions so please only take my review as intended.

Review titled Fantastic care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Mark Tebbutt - Posted on 20 May 2023
I had total knee replacement surgery at The Manor hospital in March. My consultant was very friendly and professional and explained everything in detail. My physiotherapist was excellent giving me support and encouragement throughout. I have been given exercises and great advice going forward. My hospital experience was the best I've ever had. My room was clean and comfortable. The food was tasty with plenty of choice. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and professional.

Review titled First class treatment
Rated 5 stars out of 5

From my first consultation to my last physio appointment I was treated with friendly professionalism. I would recommend the consultant and anaesthetist for their skill and unhurried personal attention and the feeling that I was in safe hands. The duty doctor, nurses, catering staff and receptionists were all efficient , caring and friendly and treated me as an individual. My physio was very thorough and gave me all the time I needed to check my progress and modify my exercise programme to reflect the progress I had made. Even now that I have been discharged , I know that I can get further help and advise should I need it.
