  2. Review titled Mis-diagnosis

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 June 2023

I arrived at A&E with clearly apparent symptoms of pain, inflammation, rash etc to the left eye. I was referred to the minor injuries unit. When seen after 4 1/2 hours I was told I had conjunctivitis and given some antibiotic drops. I was seen for less than 5 minutes. After 5 days of eye drops and feeling much worse I attended Moorfields eye hospital who immediately diagnosed ocular shingles, which if left untreated can cause serious damage to sight. I have now been given a proper anti-viral treatment plan and hope that the 5 days without proper medication has not done permanent damage. I will allow that this occurred during the junior doctor's strike which could perhaps explain the problems

  3. Review titled Wait is too long

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 June 2023

In urgent care due to having a miscarriage, I was told that it would be 1 1/2 hours to 2 hour wait and I have been waiting nearly 3 with people who came in after me going in before me. No offer for pain medication. I am in absolute agony. You would think this sort of thing would be high level considering how traumatic and upsetting it is but no. A swollen lip is not more important than losing a baby.

  6. Review titled Referral to the A&E Psychology Team

    by horologiumbz86 - Posted on 22 May 2023

This turmoil came from my work. My ex-employer did not share important information with me, did not investigate the allegations against me but dismissed me. This put me in a challenging situation. My body reacted, and I couldn't sleep enough. One morning, I woke up with a headache and was hungry, but when I sipped a bit of water and coffee, however, I vomited straight away. I couldn't move. I could eat. My life was in turmoil. I felt hopeless. I called my GP, who referred me to the A&E psychology team. They supported me amazingly. I slept 7 hours that night. I'm still tired, but I'm getting to know what to do. Thank you

  7. Review titled Great staff poor visiting policy

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 May 2023

I can’t fault the care I received the staff were a privilege to the NHS to have but the visiting policy and times of visitation on the ward are none human. They don’t take in consideration that in order for patients to heal they need emotional support from loved ones for as long as possible. Whoever designed ward 3d didn’t take any consideration for patient mental health and well being, the bay I stayed had no windows at all so you can’t tell if it’s day or night, sunny or raining. Imagine staying locked there for a week with very limited number of visitors 1 at a time and maximum 3 a day between 1-6 add this in one equation and all the lovely care provided by the silent heroes working here will just be thrown against the wall. I hope the trust would look at this visitation policy and find ways to improve the invironment for the patients.

  8. Review titled Such care, speed and efficient diagnosis

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 April 2023

    |Suffering from breathing problems/bronchial infection/asthma I attended A&E on 16 April. After speedy triage I was sent to the ATC and seen by a sympathetic and extremely competent doctor (a woman), who took time to examine me, explain her diagnosis, answer questions and proscribe. She was utterly brilliant and after 5 days of medication, I am recovering. Most grateful if this could be passed on to the doctor I saw.

Dear Patient Thank you for taking the time to share such positive feedback following your recent attendance to the Accident & Emergency Department at Royal London Hospital. We are very happy that your seen quickly and that the doctor who treated you provided excellent care. In order for us to ensure that this is shared with the specific doctor as you have requested, please can you contact the Patient Family Contact Centre (PFCC) and provide them with your patient identifiable information (NHS or hospital number), so they can identify the name of the doctor who cared for you? Kindly note that you will have to specify to them when you left your comments, date/approximate time you attended the hospital, also if you could confirm if the doctor was in the UTC (managed by Tower Hamlets GP Care Group) rather than A&E so that they can link the information provided with the correct feedback received and direct accordingly. 9. Review titled Contradictory servuce

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Asta - Posted on 13 January 2024

Delivery unit staff was amazing, very helpfull, suportive and understanding. And apologized for experience before they took me in. On the other hand, the service I got at the maternity triage, before getting into delivery unit, was very cold and indifferent. My 1st birth was spontanious, however nurse on duty decided to stick to the books and I was asked to leave as she assumed it will take me hours before delivery starts. She wasn’t even keed on checking me. The last time I was asked to leave just by luck my waters broke and the birth started while I was still in hospital premises and managed to come back to the triage. Before getting upstairs, I had to send my friend to triage to show photo as evidence that my waters really broke. I was taken back in still with indifferent attitude and was still asked to leave shortly and only when we finally convinced her to prep me for epidural, which I signed for from the start of my pregnancy, but it wasn’t even considered untill we brought it up, nurse checked me and realiased I am actually pushing not just contracting, if it wasn’t for it I would have given birth in a taxi, lift or triage. So 2 hours nurse was convincing me to leave and wasn’t checking checking me after my waters broke just because “ I am 1st time mum and this is just the start of labour” where in reality I was pushing… So delivery unit great, thanks them for their work! and experience prior that not the best, they definetly could do better.
