  1. Review titled usually great this was exceptional MRI Unit

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 June 2024

To all the staff of the MRI Unit, Sutton Monday 24-6-24 after 1;00. Exceptionally friendly, polite, efficient and with that Professional. Sat down for the contrast cannula to be and the nurse asked me the time. I still had my watch on! Oops, after correcting that. I though he was cleaning, he had done it and was taping it down, I felt nothing, great skill in action. Waits between stages were short. In the MRI room was asked if I had had one before (a sign of caring). I have had many. Instructions on positioning when on the Mc. give clearly. Music offered provided the necessary distraction to make the procedure feel short. Asked when contrast injected if I wanted it louder, again focused on patients experience. Cannula come out as it went in, almost without me noticing. I hope this feed back is past to them. Great team.

  2. Review titled Compassionate and helpful

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended for annual breast screening. I didn't notice the change of venue to the new building which is a fair walk and I am disabled. A lovely volunteer who was on the door offered me a wheelchair ride I am a hefty person but he assured me it would be fine. I am so grateful for his compassion and making me feel at ease. When I had my screening as always the staff are lovely, I was supported completely during the mammogram and they arranged a ride back to the old main entrance which was near my car. In reality I could not have managed but I am a stubborn old bird and would have tried probably to my detriment. Thank you for your compassion and the super helpful and friendly volunteer.

  3. Review titled Humane, helpful, calm & organized

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Attending the Marsden in Sutton today waa such a breath of fresh air. It was so organized! Staff were thorough and took the time to explain their answers to queries in detail. My partner has a small brain tumour and whilst having treatment for such is never going to be a dream, it is certainly wonderful to have medical staff not contribute to the stress by being vague, unhelpful, uninformative and chaotic. The Marsden staff were all wonderful. Thank you very much.

  4. Review titled New car park at The Oaks Centre

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Caroline Stratton - Posted on 06 December 2023

I had a bloods appointment today & visited the new Oaks Centre for the first time. All my previous treatments were in the old hospital building . The new car park is terrible, you cannot drive round the car park to find a space. I drove up one side and myself & three other vehicles had to individually reverse to get out of the car park. It is ridiculous and needs changing before there are accidents.

  5. Review titled Great Hospital Grest care.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Diane Davies - Posted on 14 June 2023

My dad has been under the care of the Royal Marsden Sutton for a number of years Absolutely fantastic doctors and staff. The staff in the pharmacy are put under a great deal of stress with getting prescriptions from the doctors. This has been exasperated by new computer system. Our waiting time has been upto 4.5 hours. This is exhausting for patients who are extremely sick and weak from treatment. Please. Please Please sort out this system. Its really not acceptable. It doesn't help the patients stress levels.

  6. Review titled Great Hospital dreadful pharmacy

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Amazing staff & care by the clinical trial team at this hospital, they have gone massively wrong with the pharmacy! They have implemented a new computer system which clearly isn’t ready and it takes hours for a prescription when the pharmacy desk gives you a ticket and says ‘it’ll be about 30mins’ after waiting 2 & 1/2 hrs it was finally ready, no communication just have to sit in the transport chairs and hope for a seat as there’s no where else to wait and see the numbers on the screen. They urgently need to get a handle on this, I wasn’t the only one waiting hours, one lady had had to go home the previous day as it wasn’t ready and then had to wait another 4 hrs the next day, so they think we don’t have a life outside the hospital!? Super grateful to be having care but once we’ve been told we can leave by the dr’s we want to go not sit around for more hours, please get this system sorted or at least be more honest about wait times and delays so we have a choice to stay or go and come back.

  8. Review titled Great hospital but outpatient pharmacy is a joke

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 March 2023

Wait time of hours. You are told it will be ready in 45 minutes, you turn up and are told 45 mins from when you turn up. Its chaos, should be dedicated lines for collection, drop off of prescriptions, queries etc. After a long day in hospital all you want is to go home not wait 1.5 hours. Staff are tired and off as fed up with everyone upset about how slow prescriptions are to come out

  9. Review titled Excellent Hospital

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Karen Yeomans - Posted on 17 February 2023

I came to the Hospital for 33 sessions of Radiotherapy. I attended Monday - Friday and was brought on the NHS transport from my home over an hour away. This was arranged by my GP and always on time. The service at the hospital was exceptional. I didn't want to come for the therapy, but did and I'm glad. Everyone was wonderful from the people on the Transport Desk, the Radiotherapy Reception to the Radiographers. There were Therapy Dog who were lovely and sat at your feet for a cuddle. The canteen was interesting, wouldn't recommend everything, but the soup, which I don't usually like, was lovely. Thank you very much for your care and I will be back in September 2023 for a MRI. If all the staff hadn't been so lovely, I really wouldn't have come.

  10. Review titled Poor decision regarding parking charges

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Ian - Posted on 31 October 2022

Could I ask why parking charges were reintroduced and don't management believe this is to the detriment of patients and family who are having to rely on the Royal Marsden for life critical care. Do you not think cancer patients are already facing substantial loss and barriers given the nature of their illness. I would welcome a chat to someone who thinks this is okay. Regards Ian
