Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 12 August 2024
I was in assessment unit and waited there More then 7 hours and when ever ask questions about blood test.they don’t like to answer.i think it’s more pain full when u waiting and don’t know what’s going on or any updates plus should have something to drink or eat if u are there.i seen some old women try to use kitchen and they kicked her out.I know they Bz and helping us and working hard.but sitting on chairs doesn’t help and they are hostile if someone ask questions.they don’t like it.

Review titled Wonderful Staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Keith - Posted on 21 August 2024
Visited the Emergency Eye Centre on 2oth August. The centre was very busy but without exception i was dealt with in a most professional and positive manner. How they could do this as they were so busy says much for the character of the staff. They are a credit to the NHS and I hope my comments will be made known to the entire Department

Review titled Fantastic surgery experience
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Gary Satterthwaite - Posted on 10 July 2024
Admitted for lumber decompression surgery. The whole experience from booking in to surgery and after care was first rate. I’ve had private surgery before and my experience at the RVI surpassed that. After my procedure I was taken to a single room, fed hot tasty food and treated like royalty. I cannot fault the care I received from the moment I arrived to my discharge. I wholeheartedly recommend the RVI Newcastle. 5 stars.

Review titled Exceptional treatment & care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by George - Posted on 07 July 2024
Recalled to the assessment ward by my GP for tests, all carried out quickly & a decision made to detain me in the ward for observation, an immediate panic about my car in the car park ,this was immediately resolved by department admin staff.Further tests carried out by the medical team & I was transferred to ward 48.Here the diagnosis, treatment & care by all the medical team was amazing,48 hrs later, my symptoms were under control & a very important appointment kept at the Freeman with the consultant ant.The decision by the ward sister to send me on the scenic route to the Freeman was a stroke of genious, the charasmatic medics alleviated any fears.I sincerely hope my fellow patients are achieving there treatment targets.I have been very fortunate to have met & been cared for by such a diverse set of staff of all abilities, thank you & god bless you all!

Review titled Double A&E visit
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 27 June 2024
I had to visit A&E twice in 3 days for X-rays, the nurses were lovely, particularly as I am neurodivergent and was anxious/overstimulated. The wait was long and tripled while I was sat in the waiting room. However, the X-ray staff seemed apathetic and rushed, especially on my evening visit, when the nurse who gave me my results seemed rushed and more bothered about going home than finishing existing patient care.

Referred to A&E by my doctor for investigation. All the staff were excellent, but a special mention to the doctor, due to his knowledge & diligence he installed a further rapid investigation at the Freeman, for that I am deeply grateful.A special mention to the nurses who volunteered to staff the c.t. scanner at that w/end,I am sure I am not the only one who benifitted.Thank you RVI and god bless you.

Review titled Terrible
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 07 June 2024
I would not recommend to any family or friends to be looked after here in general. On my last Children services visit an healthcare smelled strongly of body odour. She had to measure my child and weigh. I'd expect someone working in a paediatric setting to have minimal standards of hygiene.
