    I visited the pain management clinic after experiencing decades of chronic pain. The staff at the front desk were absolutely lovely. Very kind, very polite. The member of staff who saw me for my appointment seemed to be on another planet. Not a flicker of empathy or support throughout. I was made to feel like I was wasting their time; my presence certainly did not seem welcome. They may be overworked, have problems at home, or just be stressed about something from five minutes before my appointment, I don't know. They shouldn't take it out on patients, though.

  2. Review titled Everybody I dealt with was caring and professional

    i visited accident and emergency as well as being referred to the medical assessment unit recently. Everybody I dealt with was caring, professional and showed a genuine interest in my health. Just wanted to pass my appreciation to those teams.

    On a recent visit to the dermatology department I was very impressed by all the staff- receptionist,nurses, doctor-everyone was very welcoming there was an air of efficiency and helpfulness and my treatment was first rate

    I had my first mammogram today at 2.58pm. I was extremely nervous but as soon I as reached reception I was welcomed by nothing but smiles. The staff were so lovely which made me feel so much better. The lady who did my mammogram, her name began with a as its say we can’t mention a name was unbelievably kind, caring and considerate. The mammogram was fine and she put me at ease throughout my check. I couldn’t have asked for a more kinder, caring person. Thank you so much a. Xxx

    Rushed in to major trauma after serious fall at home. Ambulance crew could not have been more caring. On arrival the team assessed me fully and after a CT scan moved me to A and E where again I was looked after with professional care and sympathy.

    I visited the Opthalmology department a.m. Tues 15th August after a referral from the retinal screening team. The department was extremely busy and I was impressed by the efficiency and caring of the staff on duty. I had short waits for taking details/putting in drops, then for scans and again to see the Consultant Opthalmologist. All in all everything ran smoothly and with the high demands on this service for most of us elderly patients, I felt the need to offer my appreciation and thanks.

    I have been ringing and ringing the main hospital number practically every day in August and at different times of day. The message is always the same - our phone lives are busier than usual please ring back .I have even held on as instructed for an emergency call! What is going on here?

  8. Review titled Poor Urgent Care Centre

    I called 111 for my 5month old who “was to be seen within the hour” at YDH urgent treatment centre. Firstly you enter the main building, are sent to a&e to check in and then are sent back to the main building. Why is there nowhere to check in at the centre. Then you are to sit and wait in the main building with no staff to talk to. There is no triage so it is a waiting game. There were patients who likely should have been isolated but there was no option for that. Patient were seen in order of when they arrived. Adults and paeds are in the same area and children aren’t seen any quicker than adults. Babies are waiting 5/6 hrs to be seen.

    Been waiting since 17 th July 2023 for urgent hip injection. In agony and now unable to walk without stick or frame GP sent two urgent emails but no response
