  1. Review titled CT Scan Appointment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 June 2024

Excellent experience and care at Radiology, when I was sent for a CT Scan via another hospital. I had no idea where the hospital was, and I arrived way too early for my appointment, but was seen, scanned and on my way back home within an hour of arriving.

  2. Review titled Don't go for antenatal care

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 July 2024

My antenatal care was rushed, impersonal and lacked important communication including only being able to get appointments on Wednesdays even if I couldn't go on those days and records not being updated correctly. The midwives were friendly but the care was lacking.

  3. Review titled Sleep service

Rated 1 star out of 5

I am heavily disappointed and still waiting for a return call from the manager of the sleep service. I have been penalised for the hospitals mistake and no one has even had the decency to apologise or explain why I can’t collect my CPAP Machine which I need. For the benefit of my health, I hope I am never referred here again.

Thank you for providing your feedback regarding your experience of the Trafford General Hospital Sleep Service. The Trust strives to provide patients with effective communication, and we are sorry that we did not achieve this for you on this occasion, which we recognise caused you further anxiety at what was already a stressful time. Your feedback has been shared with Ms Martina Lambert , Interim Service Lead. Dear Iain, We are sorry that the phone was not answered when you tried to contact us. Our main contact centre phone lines have a messaging service which informs patients of the opening hours, however, in some cases a phone number may be provided for an area which does not have these facilities in place. We would like to apologise because an answerphone function should be available on phone lines provided to patients to ensure that they can leave messages for the team to pick up when they are available. Unfortunately, on this occasion you have not received the standard of service we aim to offer. We would like to assure you that your concerns are being taken seriously, however, it is difficult to investigate your specific concerns without any further detail or patient identification. It is for that reason we would welcome you to make contact directly with the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) to discuss these concerns. If you could contact PALS on 0161 276 8686 or by e-mailing pals@mft.nhs.uk quoting reference number PO24/00058 they will be able to discuss this with you. As soon as we have further details, we will review the phone number provided to you and look into why there is not a messaging function to avoid this happening again. Thank you. 9. Review titled Great care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Jan B - Posted on 05 February 2024

Visited the urgent care centreon a Saturday morning following a fall. Was treated so well by all staff - reception, triage, x ray but especially the senior nurse practitioner. Her calm manner, professionalism and experience meant any stress I was feeling soon went. Her explanation of tests carried out and action required was excellent. Following diagnosis of a broken bone in my hand she expertly fixed a cast and provided a splint for my other hand. I was registered triaged x rayed and treated in under 3 hours. In an age where the national health service is under pressure the centre was calm and efficient and my experience was nothing but positive. We are so lucky to have such a centre in Trafford. Well done.

  10. Review titled Lovely hospital

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 February 2024

I attended the orthopaedic department in December 2023 and February 2024. I had had a bad fall on stairs at work and my knee was badly swollen and painful. The first time I was seen and examined by a nurse, she referred me for an mri scan. I attended again yesterday for the results of the scan, again I was seen by a nurse but she didn’t examine me this time despite swelling going down my leg. I’m just wondering is it normal to have an appointment with a consultant then get seen by a nurse?? Apart from this everything was very good. Lovely hospital and friendly staff.

Dear Patient, Thank you for your positive comments posted on the NHS website regarding the care you received at Trafford General Hospital. It was very kind of you to take the time to write feedback and compliment the staff as it is always good to receive positive feedback which reflects the hard work and dedication of our staff. I emailed the team regarding your query. Response below: "it is possible for the patient to be seen by a consultant and then seen by a nurse, because the consultants work with a team of others which includes a specialist orthopaedic nurse, and physiotherapist. The patient might have needed the input of the specialist nurse for the consultant to have referred the patient to them" I hope this answered your query, Yours sincerely Connor Thomson Patient Experience Team
