Review titled Wonderful care at Warwick Hospital- Thank you
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by John MacMahon Mahon - Posted on 12 January 2025
My husband, was brought into Warwick H early on Wed 8 Jan by ambulance with a temp of 40.2% and a urinary infection. That day Warwick was on TV and having so many flu victims arriving that they were struggling to cope. We were taken to Cubicle 5 and treated so well and with great care and around 5 pm he was transfered to Nicholas Ward. He was so well treated and looked after there and on Friday they scanned him and found that it was his appendix that was leaking nasties into his tum that had set off the infection. This was around lunch time on Friday. By around 15.00 all the paper work for an emergency removal of his appendix was completed and kind man wheeled him up to the Major surgery theatre. He also was kind enough to show me how to find car park A! The wonderful clever surgeons operated that afternoon on my 83 year old husband and he was then sent to Hatton Ward where he remains. When I visited yesterday I was not sure how I would find my husband! To my amazement he was sitting up in bed eating a three course lunch and he finished the lot! The consultant and the clever surgeon who managed to operate via key hole surgery on an old patient deserve a big thank you. This was just incredible treatment and, as a family, we are all so very grateful to everybody at Warwick Hospital. A big thank you and 5 stars xx

Review titled Well looked after
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Andrea Ciampa - Posted on 16 January 2025
Accident and Emergency excellently run service, staff very caring, and professional. Although they were overwhelmed with patients, they made sure we were all looked after, and attended to. The whole team from carers to high level, were extremely thorough, and very professional. They went over and above in my opinion, even making everyone a hot drink, if we wanted one.

I attended the Endoscopy unit for a Colonoscopy and from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, you never feel alone at any point, the professionalism, kindness and care from every member of staff - with some added humour - is unbounded. They make, what can be a very anxious afternoon, much easier to bear.

Review titled Exceptional care
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had a colonoscopy following an urgent suspected cancer pathway referral. This was a worrying time for me but all of the staff, receptionist, nurses and consultant made me feel totally at ease. The consultant especially was one of the kindest people I think I have come across, gently explaining everything that was happening. If you have to go through this procedure at this department you will be exceptionally well cared for. Thank you everyone for being there. Fortunately my outcome was positive in that nothing untoward was found.

Review titled Excellent Service and from all concerned
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by John Fox - Posted on 20 December 2024
I recently visited the cardiology unit at Warwick Hospital after being referred by my GP. The service I received was first class starting with the reception staff, followed by the staff who undertook my ecg and blood pressure and finishing with an excellent consultant. I no point were any of my concerns dismissed and I was given a precise summation of what was happening and how the new medication prescribed would, hopefully, rectify the situation. Well done one and all.

Review titled Careful and considerate
Rated 4 stars out of 5

I was referred for a gastroscopy after an abnormal abdominal CT. This was worrying. I found the staff at the endoscopy department to be very considerate and caring. They explained the procedure well, helped me keep calm during it and provided me with a detailed report. Happily, nothing very serious was diagnosed, though I await the results of many biopsies. My thanks to all the staff at this unit.

Review titled Fantastic experience
Rated 5 stars out of 5

On 7 October I was admitted to Th**** ward for a total knee replacement. The whole experience was brilliant. The staff welcomed me at 7am in the morning and took me to my prepared bed. The ward (and all areas I attended) were spotless. I was admitted quickly and efficiently. Theatre staff collected me 2 hours later. The anesthetist gave me a spinal anesthetic which worked immediately. All the staff in theatre were warm, reassuring and friendly. The operation was performed by the Surgical Registrar under the supervision of the Consultant. I was looked after well by those in the recovery bay and swiftly returned to the ward. The Physios were round quickly and helped me out of bed to sit in the armchair. I stayed in overnight, even though I had planned to go home the same day. Bit of a disturbed night, which I expected. Next day bloods taken and x-ray of knee. All came back OK and I went home at 1.30 with my medications. I have nothing but gratitude for all staff at Warwick hospital from the cleaners who do a fantastic job to the surgeons. Well done to all.

During recent visits to Endoscopy and Scanning Depts I found staff very caring and reassuring. Their friendly professionalism meant the experience wasn't as bad as I'd dreaded! Appointments were on time, and results given very quickly. Big thanks to everyone

Review titled A&E waiting times unacceptable
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Glen Martin - Posted on 20 October 2024
I am at A&E with my 19 year old daughter. We have been here for 7 hours and 10 minutes. Apparently we are waiting for a medical team to review blood tests taken four hours ago. A&E waiting times are supposed to be 4 hours. This is unacceptable, the receptionist has no idea of how much longer we will wait!
