    Mum attended the emergency admissions unit today. All the staff were absolutely amazing. As a health care professional in cancer care at another trust I really appreciate the level of care and compassion they delivered. Mum also felt at ease which is the most important factor. All necessary investigations and treatments done in a timely manner. Well done to all and thank you

    Thank you ever so much for taking the time to share your feedback about your mum's recent positive experience of care at Weston Park Hospital. We are really pleased to read that she received high quality care and staff treated her with compassion at a very stressful time as an emergency admission.     I have utter respect for all medical and care aspects of my stay at Weston Park. The food however was utterly abysmal, inedible and I believe made me more ill than the chemo. I started to feel sick with the sight, smell and taste of all provided food until I stopped eating which made me very nauseaus and wanting to end the treatment.

    Thank you ever so much for taking the time to share your feedback. While we are really pleased to read that you felt you were well cared for during your admission, we are really sorry to read that you had a bad experience with the food. While there may have been an impact from side effects of treatment on your experience of food, we are sorry to hear that you were unable to eat the food provided to you. We have shared this feedback with our catering team for their response. The catering team work really hard on providing several different menus catering to a variety of dietary requirements, to enable patients to access food appropriate for them while they are an inpatient. However, we appreciate that even with this range of menus not all patients needs can be met, and if a patient's needs are not being met with the standard menus, the catering team can work with this patient individually to agree meals that meet the patient's need. Although in your feedback you have advised you found the food inedible, we would really appreciate more detailed feedback about the issues with the food so that the catering team can make sure any issues are addressed.     The appointment system now at Weston park is not very good . Before when the appointment is finished you got another one . Now you donot get one before two weeks before is due . Which makes hard to book blood appointment.

    Thank you ever so much for taking the time to share your feedback and we are really sorry to read that you find the appointment system doesn't work very well and makes it difficult for arranging blood appointments. We have passed this feedback on to the Weston Park team for them to take into consideration. We are sorry about the difficulties you are experiencing with coordinating your appointments with current process of the next appointment not being booked until 2 weeks prior to it being due. They have advised that there are several reasons why we are not able to book the next appointment immediately for patients at the moment. The team have offered to look into this in more detail for you; in order to be able to do this and give more advice about this, they will need to know some of your personal details. In order for this to be picked up and investigated for you, please contact our PALS team on 0114 271 2400 or by emailing sth.pals@nhs.net. They will ask you to share some personal details so that they can pass this on to the Weston Park team to investigate.

    It feels like a lottery getting an appropriate appointment booking at this hospital and like entering some kind of awful paralel universe if you need to get it changed or sorted out. I have had so many wrong letters, double-bookings and inappropriately changed booking where wrong that I have lost count. To top it all off, I have now finally entered a new and horrible phase of getting letters for appointments at times I can't make, with one number on to ring, which leads to an office where they say they can't change the booking! I wish to goodness someone would check that any new admin systems they put in place actually work and that all staff know what to do. Nobody seems to think about how things actually work out for patients. When you have to attend the hospital very frequently (I have now been doing this for a year and have at least another year to go) constant screw-ups with admin are no small thing. What a waste of time and energy for everyone involved. I have decided that it is time to make complaints and leave reviews because using up specialist nurse time on trivial administration is not on when their work is better done looking after patients and when the hospital management / leadership don't pay enough attention to whether their systems work, thus endlessly putting both their staff and the patients in a difficult position. Will somebody please get a grip on these systems?

    Thank you ever so much for taking the time to share your experience with accessing care at Weston Park Hospital. We are really sorry to read that you have had a poor experience with arranging appointments, and appreciate your frustrations with this, particularly as you have regular appointments to attend. We have shared your feedback with the team at Weston Park who have said how very sorry they are to hear that you have had issues in contacting their team as well as with getting an appointment. This is something which has been recognised and the team are working on implementing new processes with the aim of these improving the service for our patients. This includes a booking line which will be constantly manned between set hours with a queuing system meaning patients will not have to leave messages and will be able to speak directly to a member of their team relating to their appointment. While this may take some time to be fully implemented the team are aware of the issue and putting some measures in place focusing on making improvements to this process. However, if you wish to follow this up for your specific experience to be investigated, please contact our PALS team on 0114 271 2400 or by emailing sth.pals@nhs.net. The PALS team will ask you to share some personal details in order for us to investigate this matter for you and help you with your appointment issues.

    I have been attending as an outpatient for 2 years and have received excellent care from diagnosis to treatment. The staff work very hard under difficult circumstances but look after the patients and are always wiling to answer any questions
