on arrival was given good attention throughout the time spent in a&e. Was regularly checked on, acknowledged, even on leaving when the person who checked me in asked if I was okay. very thorough, helpful and friendly people.

I ended up in A&E with what turned out to be a broken ankle. Everyone, especially the nurses, was incredibly friendly and supportive.

Review titled Great support & care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 17 July 2024
I visited Wexham Park 3 weeks post partum with intense pain in my upper abdomen, vomiting blood, high temperature. I waited in A&E for no longer than 10 minutes before being seen and checked over, and then admitted within hours with Pancreatitis caused by gallstones. I was taken to a ward fairly quickly, being made comfortable with pain relief. I had a 2 week stay in which they removed my gallbladder at the end, and I was home 2 days later. Unfortunately I didn't know but I had an infection on my pancreas, causing me to be admitted another month later. Again, seen extremely quickly and admitted back onto Ward 11. This time, a 3 week stay, spending Christmas & New years in hospital - the first with my baby, and I was unable to spend it with her. I cannot fault the care of the consultants, and all of the nurses who looked after me during both stays. Knowing I was away from my newborn baby, they made the stay somewhat slightly bearable. I was cared for in the best way I felt I could be and I cannot thank any of them enough for helping me through a real tough time. I am only a 25 year old girl, who never expected to endure that post partum but I feel extremely lucky to have been admitted and seen to in the way I was at Wexham. I had previously visited Stoke Mandeville with the same symptoms 3 times prior (twice while pregnant) and dismissed each time , being made to feel silly. So thank you Wexham, and the people who work for you.

Review titled No Communication
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 03 October 2023
I was diagnosed with Lung Cancer 8 days ago. No further communication. The staff at actue assessment at the time and a week later when I chased said they can not tell me anything further as it is not their field of expertise. I chased today and was told my case was "in clinic" when I asked what that meant I was told that it meant it was still being looked at and I would probably hear sometime this week. They already have the results of the tests carried out last week and have not asked for any more. I can only presume that there is nothing that can be done so there is no urgency for the medical team to do anything. I can understand that, but I have limited time and I do have lots of decisions to make and feel that I can best do that when I have information about my condition, I would like them to share that with me. I am very sad that 8 days after having been given this diagnosis I have no further information. This is also negatively impacting those people that I have told.

Review titled Very slow service
by Anonymous - Posted on 23 October 2023
I was referred to this hospital to undergo further tests and scanning for two issues I reported to my GP. It's been a whole month and I haven't received an appointment date for the scan and two weeks that I have been waiting to hear from them regarding my test results. My issue keeps getting worse and there is nothing I can do.

I arrived at A&E having been thrown from a horse. I was seen very quickly and ended up in Ward 1. I was very impressed with the level of care and the thoroughness of the investigations carried out. The nurses and doctors were all so lovely and caring and I want to say thank you for the care I received.

Review titled Totally let down
Rated 1 star out of 5

5 admissions in 4 weeks. Needs a gallbladder removed but keep me topped up with opioids and discharged with antibiotics. Lost me on epic the computer system and left me between 4am and 10.30pm without what should be scheduled doses of antibiotics and pain relief so unable to medicate me or release a prescription for antibiotics that I needed. Twice I have had to return within 12 hour as the pain was uncontrollable and then discharged alway being told if I return I will have emergency surgery. Well when will this happen, how many times do I have to come in????? Back in this morning as symptoms have returned obviously due to not being given the required antibiotics and pain relief worn off but staff eventually gave pain relief (after an argument) and then tried to discharge me again!!! 2 infections, 5 admissions for pain in 4 weeks. Do I have to wait until my gallbladder ruptures or I get sepsis? Is this how you would want 1 of your family members treated?
