  1. Review titled Attentive and caring

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Susan Pape - Posted on 25 November 2022

I Was admitted as a day patient for a hysteroscopy under general anaesthetic. I can't fault any of the staff that cared for me during my visit which was approx 6.5 hours. Everyone was caring and kind and explained exactly what was happening and what was to be done. Following the procedure I was monitored in recovery area 1 and then to recovery area 2. In each area I was diligently cared for. What a fantastic team of proffesionals. So, if you are reading this as a future day patient don't be worried, you will be in very safe hands.

  2. Review titled Extremely long wait

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I called 111 due to awful stomach pain and was advised to go to a&e where they made an appointment for me. I managed to get there, still in pain and had a urine sample taken. I almost fainted in the bathroom, had to call a nurse for help standing up and still didn't even recieve any pain relief. I waited 7 hours to see a Dr who told me it was likely I had an infection and he would send me home on antibiotics. I kept asking are you sure and after rolling his eyes, he finally decided to check my stomach.... and then realised the pain I was in. It turned out to be appendicitis and he said he didn't know because I was masking the pain... he wasn't even going to check me over until I asked about 3 times. 9 hours after I was admitted, they found me a bed in day surgery. The lady there chatted to her friend for 20 minutes before making my bed, I had to hold my drip because she wouldn't hang it up until made my bed and I was so in pain and exhausted. It upset me that there was no sympathy at all. I must say, after that lady left, the care in day surgery was brilliant and everyone was very attentive and kind but my first experience was honestly upsetting and not one I had hoped for. Appendicitis is extremely painful and not to be seen for 7 hrs and then have eyes rolled at you for talking about pain is disappointing.

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for taking the time to write and let us know of your recent experience at Frimley Health and please accept my sincere apologies on behalf of the Trust for the parts of your experience that were less than we strive to deliver. I am unable to comment on the specific elements of your case but please be assured that the negative elements of your experience are not the standard of care we strive to deliver – I am sorry that your experiences have not reflected the best of Frimley Health. It is however reassuring to know that – after the initial issues – your experience in the DSU was positive and I hope you are recovering well I will send your feedback to the teams in ED & DSU who will use it to try to improve the patient experience going forward. Kind regards, Alex Jackson, Patient Experience Manager, Frimley Health Foundation Trust

  3. Review titled Awful practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

My daughter attended A&E following a brace that she'd only had fitted in orthodontics snapping. She had a huge metal pole hanging from her mouth, couldn't eat, couldn't drink. Triage sent her home. When I complained I got told that they weren't orthodontics so what were they meant to do. A doctor even advised that I try to remove the snapped brace with wire cutters. We ended up in Northwick Park Hospital and after 15 hours they removed it for my daughter and were absolutely appalled that Wexham park sent her home in that state. Wexham Park Hospital is a joke waiting times are crazy, staff don't care whenever I have been there at night they run with one doctor for the whole of A&E the last time I was up there someone with suspected meningitis was left sitting in a busy waiting area for over 5 hours. The A&E at the very least should be closed down.
