The hospital is extremely dirty. Gowns on the floor. Expected to take a urine test in dirty toilets. Medical and reception on personal phone. I witnessed elderly being completely neglected. Heartbreaking.

  2. Review titled Exceptional care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have been in the hospital since Sunday 23 April, first at A and E, then through Ambulatory care, Acute assessment 1 and then Victory Ward. Throughout my stay, I have experienced nothing but the very best care. The staff in each department, especially the nurses and Doctors in Acute assessment 1 and Victory Ward are exceptional, kind people who ensure that their patients are given the best care. The matron on Victory Ward is a dedicated nurse who really looks after her patients. The consultant doctors and the ward doctors are patient and deal with all sorts of people and from my observations treat everyone with respect. Yes, the waiting has been long, but I cannot allocate blame to anyone. I have been looked after very well, and I think it only fit to thank all of them publicly! Thank you all so very much, I am humbled by your dedication and care. My very best wishes to you all.

  5. Review titled Superb care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Hazel Capal - Posted on 06 March 2023

I attended the eye department today with my granddaughter, and was incredibly impressed with the whole experience. Various staff members asked if we needed directions, and even the friendly tea lady in the eye department added to the positivity. The optometrists she saw explained everything in great detail to a little girl, and were so kind, gentle and professional. Both my husband and I have attended the eye department in recent years, and always been impressed with the high standards we experience. Well done!

  9. Review titled Supportive staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I came into have a laparoscopy, everyone was very friendly and kind from the moment I arrived. Everything was clearly explained. When I returned back to the ward I was continuing to vomit after trying to eat and drink and the nurses attended to me quickly and gave me extra time to feel better before discharging me. I couldn’t remember what exactly what the surgeon told me when I came out of theatre so the sister on the ward requested a doctor from the gynaecology team to come down to clarify what happened in my procedure which I really appreciated, I felt much better when I left because of this. All staff on the ward and friendly and kind natured, it was definitely one of the most positive experiences I’ve ever had at Whipps Cross so a really big thank you and shout out to the team on Plane Tree ward.

  10. Review titled Efficient, helpful and very caring service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Paul S - Posted on 29 March 2023

I attended an appointment this morning for a hearing test in the Audiology Department and was extremely impressed with the kindness and helpfulness shown to me by the audiologist. In particular I enquired abot the possibility of "Bluetooth" hearing aids, only to be told that the repacement aids I had been sent some months earlier did indeed have this facility - and she then proceeded to show me how to install the app. on my phone which I very much appreciated. The audiologist whose name I sadly don't know is a real credit to the hospital. Incidentally this followed another very positive experience, this time with the dermatology department! On Friday of last week I was referred by my GP because of suspected skin cancer - to my amazement I then received a telephone call on Sunday offering me an appointment for yesterday. Once again I was treated with great kindness and respect and was given the reassurance that my problem was almost certainly far less serious than was feared! All in all two very happy experiences of Whipps Cross - well done!i
