My injury was minor, but I was treated within the hour, including an x-ray. The staff were fabulous & professional, but very friendly. A very positive experience

Checked in seen within the hour a very thorough series of tests and examinations followed. The person looking after me was very knowledgeable and very helpful. I left feeling better with ointment to use over 5 days. And told if it does not help call back after 2 days

  3. Review titled Excellent service in A&E today

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I arrived at Whitby A&E at about 9am this morning. I’d had a major fall a week ago and my rib injury had flared up again. I was seen within a very short time by a Nurse Practioner who, after reviewing my medical history, suggested that further tests a scans would need to be done at Scarborough. I’m pleased to say that this was based on my medical history that the NP had looked at before he even spoke to me - excellent care! I was seen in Scarborough A&E and treated very well - CT scan, blood tests and discharged by 1pm with a full understanding of how to go about my care for the next few weeks. Excellent service all round - can’t fault it. Thank you and particularly to the NP who looked at me as an individual patient from the start.

Whilst on holiday, I needed some medical assistance, I was directed to the walk in centre by the local pharmacy and it was a great experience from the lovely greeting from the receptionist to the professional and friendly nurse that dealt with me, thankyou so much! Just wish all NHS establishments treated patients with such care and empathy and with a smile.

  9. Review titled Caring and compassionate experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had occasion to visit UTC late on Saturday with a very severe flareup of Diverticulitis. I would like to thank the two members of staff who responded very promptly with what treatment was available at the time. An ambulance was called to transport me to Scarborough then York Hospital due to overcrowding at Scarborough. Heartfelt thank you to them both and to Whitby Hospital for being there.
