  1. Review titled Nobody there to contact

Rated 2 stars out of 5

    by Phil T - Posted on 22 February 2025

Urgent care needed following unexpected critical event following recent urology surgery. Have been leaving messages on urology investigations phone for two days asking for urgent help. Nobody has called back. Called the consultants secretary. Phone out of action. Next day same phone now working but message says secretary off until next week. Asked operator to put me through to urology doctor. Was transferred to inpatients ward. Happened several times. They were unable to help. Left several messages on all telephone numbers relating to urology and consultant’s secretaries. Now three days and nobody has called back. Only option is to go back to A & E at Stoke, which I had to attend before all this started. They were the ones who told me to contact urology after fitting me with a temporary catheter. Nobody has taken responsibility for my care or contacted urology to refer me. GP not working until Monday. Why have a phone messaging service if nobody checks the messages?

  2. Review titled Minor injuries department

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 February 2025

In late January I was in a lot of pain and unable to stand up so I had help calling an ambulance service. I wasn't impressed by how a five hour call led to us being lied to about an ambulance that was soon to arrive, being on call with some male staff members who argued with me about being rude with my tone when I was just trying to talk during my pain and couldn't keep my voice level, for the security in the building being told we actually won't get an ambulance and not telling us to then finally talking with the doctor themselves when most of the pain had subsided but left me incapacitated. So the doctor stated the only way to get there was by taxi. She was lovely and tried to do a swift job of checking but I was prescribed medication shortly after I said I have a kidney condition and surprise surprise people with it can't take codeine. So I was left with a recommendation to pay for to clean what was going on, no antibiotics or any kind of medicine that could help flush the issue. And to this day about three weeks after the problem I've gained reactive arthritis in my hand and other discomfort in my chest and kidneys. When I went back to minor injuries I wasn't able to get more than a checkup which was me being asked questions and having my pulse looked at and told to come in the next day, the receptionist lady said to my face I would have to do the whole process again and that they were already at capacity so I'm getting so many mixed signals and no chance to be checked up on what was a severe case. As a student I can't drive to Aylesbury to the nearest AnE and neither could I afford to pay for travel on what I have to use not that my condition back then could handle any movement. So lovely it is that our job market doesn't have a want/ enough of part time roles for students.

  3. Review titled Breast Centre - Superb service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had my appointment today at the Breast Unit to investigate a concern. I was prepared to be there for hours just waiting, however I was blown away with the efficiency of the service and the kindness and professionalism of the staff and consultants. There was a clear system in place, which was clearly communicated to me. Both the ultrasound followed by the physical exam were led by the most compassionate and professional doctors who put me at ease and spoke to me as a human being. Everything was explained thoroughly and I was never made to feel rushed. Thank you

My husband had a telephone consultation with a very nice Doctor who booked him for a Cholesterol injection. We attended the appointment and all the members of staff that dealt with my husband were absolutely fantastic so kind and caring. Five star service.

  5. Review titled Excellent reassuring process

Rated 5 stars out of 5

After a GP referral to the Breast Clinic, I booked an appointment easily. Parking was stressful but once inside, every member of the department was kind, calm and reassuring. They were professional and gentle. They made a real effort to ensure I felt comfortable and dignified, asked consent before doing any examinations and gave as much privacy as possible. Thank you.
