    I’ve had terrible back and hip pain and self referred . I was ask a few questions and I informed them that I’d had lumber surgery in the past. I was told I would be contacted regarding an appointment but got a email advising me to do some exercises for 2 weeks then if I still had a problem call for a in person appointment. I’ve been advised by my osteopath that the lumber extension exercise should never be performed by someone with my back history. My symptoms are now so bad I’ve been prescribed liquid morphine. I find it absolutely disgusting that these people and service is giving people medical advice on the strength of a phone call. Surely this has to stop.

    I received a text which asked me to book an appointment. However, there were no appointments available in Ipswich where I live. I phoned up and spoke to someone who checked the system and booked an appointment in 3 weeks' time because that was all that was available. She agreed to put my name down for any last-minute appointments in Ipswich so I could be seen sooner, due to the severity of my issue. I then received a phone call from somebody who said that I could go to Hadleigh because "some people would be prepared to travel 20 minutes" to be seen sooner. I explained again that I was unable to travel, and if people were able to travel that was great for them but not an option for me. The advisor then became very snippety and rude, saying that "she was only trying to help" and she would "leave it as it is then". This phone call upset me, especially as I had already explained to the first person that I was unable to travel. I resent the implication that I was unwilling to travel, rather than unable to travel that distance. Not everyone is able-bodied or has access to private transport. It doesn't leave a good impression for a provider that should be trying to be inclusive, rather than judgemental and abrupt.

    Tried to self refer on Saturday on a iPad and system wouldn’t work, so waited till Monday and called only to be told that the system isn’t working on iPads. So made a referral over the phone and was told that I’ll hear from them within 48 hrs. I then got a text message telling me that I’ve a appointment some days later in Alburgh which is over a hour from where I live, so phoned again to be told that it’s the earliest appointment they have and my nearest health centre would be a 3 wk wait. Because of the injury to my arm and hand which I’ve found out is a muscle tear in my forearm I’ve had to go to a private physio.
