  2. Review titled Professional, Caring & Kind

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I cannot thank the staff and surgeon enough at Aces in Wisbech for their faultless care. I attended recently for repeat cataract surgery and was understandably very nervous. Everyone that I saw was professional, caring and kind. Thank you so much for taking such great care of me.

  3. Review titled Very poor experience

I took my mum, who has dementia, to Aces Cambridge for a cataract operation at the beginning of the year. In the first instance, appointments were very difficult to organise with Aces each time we needed one. There was lots of "we don't have any appointments this month and we don't have the rotas for next month yet" and we'll call you back" which they never did. The first appointment, we waited an hour for the consultation and eye tests. The second appointment which was for the actual operation, we waited an hour to be told that they didn't have the right lens for the op and we had to come back another day. The third appointment we waited an hour (see a theme here?), she had the op and was sent home with some eye drops. The forth appointment was a follow up, waited an hour, had some tests and we were told that there was fluid behind the eye that needed to drain, she was given more eye drops. The fifth appointment was another follow up and she was told she still had fluid behind the eye and gave her more drops. The last appointment, waited an hour, told the fluid was still there and we'd have to be referred back to the hospital. I took her to the hospital this week to see an ophthalmologist and we were told there's no fluid there and her eye is perfectly fine! Each appointment was during the day so I had to take time off work, it was in Cambridge which is a 40 minute drive for me and then the parking costs of Cambridge on top of that. The whole thing seemed a huge waste of time!

  4. Review titled Fantastic Service and Support

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Nicholas Waddick - Posted on 04 March 2024

I recently had Cataract surgery in both of my eyes at Aces in Thetford. The service was fantastic. The staff where very friendly, helpful, knew exactly what they were doing and went out of their way to put my mind at ease. The surgical team and consultant could not have been better. I would highly recommend asking for a referral to Aces if you need Cataract surgery.

  5. Review titled Very poor after services

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I have had both my eyes done the first one I had no problems whatsoever if fact it went so well it felt that I didn’t have the procedure done. The second one is a different story after 18 days my eye feels gritty and uncomfortable. The follow up phone call is a complete of time it felt that the person who called was reading a monologue off the screen and wasn’t interested in anything that I was saying. Another concern of mine it that you only get a small bottle of Tobradex when I ran out I rang for another bottle to be told that I had to get a Doctors prescription at my surgery that takes five days to get which is no good if the discomfort keeps you awake at night I spoke to someone at my surgery and she said that many of the patients have had similar problems regarding the medication if it a recurring problem I cannot understand why no one does anything about it

  6. Review titled First Class Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Paul Ward - Posted on 08 February 2024

I arrived with my Dad for his procedure, we were received with courtesy and respect. After a few minutes wait my dad had his eyes tested and prepared with drops. Then taken to the treatment room where a friendly practitioner explained the procedure. Everyone was super friendly and professional. Within about 15 minutes we were on our way out. The next day my dads eyesight was completely free of blurred vision. Truly first class service. Thank you.

  7. Review titled Couldn't ask for better care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Louis Bailey - Posted on 19 September 2023

I can't praise enough the care I have received from Aces. From the first phone call to arrange my assessment, through the assessment itself and the actual surgery and finally the follow-up phone call, everyone concerned have been absolutely fantastic. I can't thank them enough.

  8. Review titled Experienced care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Recent eye test shows my cataract operations were a complete success. The whole procedure from booking in to surgery was carried out with care and empathy towards the patient, which alleviated most of my anxiety about the surgery. I did feel a sense of safety. Therefore my thanks go to all the staff that tended to me, from the opticians, the nursing staff and the surgeon for a pleasant outcome. A good choice of clinic.

  9. Review titled Brilliant surgeons

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Had cataracts removed in both eyes, last week and this week, only lasted about 10 minutes each eye. The staff are brilliant and work so hard, my husband also goes later in the month and hopefully his experience will be just as good. Thankyou Aces, hopefully having saved my driving years.
