  1. Review titled Bad experience

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Rang 111, and told them about my shoulder problem, who said Bardoc would contact me shortly with advice. Bardoc rang me and decided to send me to a healthcentre 8 miles away, they said 4 miles. Bardoc is 1.5 miles from my house. I asked about being sent to Fairfield hospital but they said no. Had to go to health centre, £16 in a taxi, to be told I had to my local A&E instead, £22 in a taxi, and also past my house. I was told I had broken my clavicle so another taxi, £6, home. Why didn't they just send me to Fairfield hospital, as I asked at first ? This would have been a quicker option but as the person on the phone was insistent, no other option, that they send me to the health centre in Bolton. Could have saved me less stress and money. Do they not look at your home address before they send you to be checked out ??? Won't be using this service again.

  2. Review titled Helpful investigation

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Very grateful to be redirected from A&E to Urgent Treatment Room. After thorough investigations- bloods took a long time but not the departments fault- I left with antibiotics because of how late it was.The doctor was helpful and kind and I am very thankful for his practice. Big praise to lady on reception too who hurried my bloods as best she could and was really very supportive and helpful.

  3. Review titled Shocking incompetence

Rated 1 star out of 5

by KJA - Posted on 11 April 2024

Following a call from the overnight GP he said he'd send the prescription to my local chemist. Had to wait 2 hrs for chemist to open at 8am got there to be told they couldn't access the email from Bardoc .bardot apparently don't have the facility to send proper prescriptions like normal GPs do as they don't have a proper office . Went to the 2nd chemist and waited for them to open at 9. Got there and they didn't have the meds. But they were helpful by printing off the email for me to take to a 3rd chemist in town centre. 10am finally get to the 3rd chemist who then refuse to take the email at all despite the previous one explaining to them and asking them to have it ready for me. 4 hrs later still no meds so in desperation decided to buy it myself. Only wish I'd thought to ask to buy it at the first chemist but after only 3 hrs sleep and in a panic it didn't occur to me. I'm sure I'm not the only one who must have suffered with this incompetence. How can a doctors office not be able to send a proper prescription?

  4. Review titled Great prompt service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 April 2024

I was in urgent need of an emergency appointment during the weekend following on from an appointment with my local GP during the week day. I contacted 111 and my details and medical condition was taken down and i was informed someone will contact me within 2 hours i received a phone call and was given an appointment at the Winifred Kettle Centre in Westhoughton within an hour and half of the telephone consultation. On attending the surgery i waited 15 minutes then was asked to see the Doctor. Unfortunately it was a male Doctor and my medical condition required me to see a female Doctor due to the intimate nature of the medical need and examination. The male GP completely understood my concerns and immediately contacted the nearby hospitals gynecology department for me to be seen by a female Doctor. The Doctor on call at the Winifred Kettle Centre was extreamly professional and considerate in telephoning the hospital and writing a letter for me to attend an emergency appointment. i was issued an appointment at the hospital during the same evening however i had to wait for a considerable length of time, which was understandable as other patients had been waiting before me. Nonetheless I would like to thank the male Doctor that was on call on the weekend at the Winifred Kettle Centre for his prompt action. Without his intervention i would need to wait several days to see my local female GP for a medical emergency causing me more pain and anguish. Thank You

I was given an appointment this morning on the telephone and was seen on time this afternoon at Winifred Kettle Centre. The doctor was brilliant, friendly and kind. He asked me a few questions, examined me and listened to me. Excellent, professional service. Thank you!

  7. Review titled Helpful and Considerate Doctor

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Our 95 years old father was very unwell and needed some assurance regarding newly prescribed medication. We met with a Doctor who was thorough, knowledgeable, considerate and caring and we left Waters Meeting Health Centre feeling confident that the information and treatment we had received would greatly assist in our fathers improvement.

I had been seen by a lovely doctor called Dr Pasha. He did a full check and made me feel comfortable. He did not waste any time and got to the bottom of the problem. Thank you Dr Pasha.

Prompt, attentive service for our 99 year old mum. Called out the last 3 Sundays, arrived quickly and throughly checked mum out. Referred her to admissions avoidance service for help and support we needed. A great big thank you to all involved. We really appreciate this service.

  10. Review titled Terrible service and attitude.

Rated 1 star out of 5

After phoning 111 at 6:20pm today for advice about testing positive for covid whilst on immunosuppressants, I was passed on via triage nurses to the Bardoc service and told the GP could prescribe me the medication I vitally need to help fight covid. At around 10:15pm I was called by one of the out of hours GP’s only to be told he couldn’t help me at all. Frustrated by his answer and the fact I’d waited 4 hours to be told this I asked why the nurses I’d spoken to had told me he could. His response… “What do nurses know” Aghast at this response and quite frankly slightly irritated at this point I asked “Well what am I supposed to do now” his response…. “Ring 119. I’m working at 10 o clock at night trying to help people, why would I not help you if I could” So I ring 119 they are shut! I call 111 again as I had no clue what to do next and spoke to a very helpful young man, explained that I’d been seeking help since 6:20pm and I’m back where I started. He spoke with his superior and between them they’ve managed to refer me on to the covid treatment service that the GP could have done at worse but said there was no reason why he couldn’t have prescribed me the medication as that is what they are meant to do in these circumstances. Bardoc are meant to help you not belittle nurses and be incredibly rude to patients. Sincere apologies to all the Bardoc staff who are helpful as I’m sure there are many of you but know the doctor I spoke to tonight is massively letting your service down. Next time I will put more pressure on the NHS by turning up at A&E when I need help because I will never use this service again.
