The whole concept of a therapy over the phone (or computer) seems so impersonal, insensitive and cold. It’s lacking sincerity and humanity – that for me is the core of any therapy – doesn’t provide me with reassurance and comfort I was expecting. In a way, I feel I trusted you to tell you my problems, opened up the wound, and now I’m left to deal with it! It would make me feel better if I knew there was somebody who genuinely cares and was reaching out for me - someone who not only listens but understands what I’m going through. If this therapy is about ticking the boxes, safeguarding and making me cry on the phone then it is just cruel and it’s creating more fuss and putting me under more stress and pressure, then it’s not for me! I think when it comes to good therapy there is no "one size fits all" situation because we are all individuals and we should embrace it, rather then pigeonhole and stigmatize. In my experience (and people I know) there is no real support for people with emotional problems.... it’s just pills, isolation, stigma and hardship. If you truly want to help people have better understanding of themselves, something has to change. Thank you for the opportunity to share my opinion.
