My child has been attending Oakdale for therapeutic support for over a year. Being autistic and having anxiety has meant that he has to face a number of challenges in his young life. Being able to explore and discuss these challenges and his feelings openly with his therapist (T) has proved invaluable for him as he learns to negotiate the neurotypical world. T’s ways of working with my child are thoughtful and considered – an open and empathic approach that is always engaging and playful. Perfect for him. It goes without saying that I have seen his confidence grow in the time that he has been seeing T. He regards his time with T as ‘my time’ and looks forward to seeing her.

Myself and my children have been accessing the Oakdale for the last few years for therapeutic family support and Art Therapy. This has been a lifeline for all of us. Through our therapist's continued care, knowledge, unconditional positive regard and understanding we have been able to deal with life challenges in a safer and healthier way. It has made a huge difference to not feel so alone at times of crisis and have a place to work through our troubles in a trusting collaborative approach. I often recommend the Oakdale to anyone needing a safe place to work through issues & times of difficulties. Also for assessments and post diagnosis support, which we have also accessed and benefited from. I think my child said it best when they said (our therapist) "T-s is my medicine"
