Review titled Still waiting.
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Michelle Ogden - Posted on 18 December 2022
I totally understand there are worse people off than me. I called at 17.15 and was on hold for 2 hours. At exactly 2 hours the phone call cut. I filled in the online form. Submitted at 19.27 and told to expect a call within 30 minutes. It’s now 05.53 and still no call. I can’t sleep. In a lot of pain . I have a newly diagnosed incisional hernia . Have not passed a motion in 9 days now. Nausea. Can hardly eat or drink ( not great for someone with only 1 kidney and a recent Aki on my 1 kidney ) feel generally rubbish. On and off mild fever. Intermittent fast heart rate ( though that could be stress of feeling abandoned) I test my urine regular and since last night I’m showing ketones in my urine. I’m not diabetic so I’m assuming this is because I can hardly eat or drink . All in all my experience has been disappointing. How much longer do I wait ? Do I further suffer it out till Monday ? ( it’s now 05.57 Sunday morning ) to be hung up on after 2 hours on hold and to still be waiting 10 and a half hours for a call they said would be within half an hour. I’m assuming now I won’t actually get that phone call.

Review titled Appalling service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Reynolds - Posted on 12 December 2022
Called to hear over a 2 hour wait so decided to complete the online form and was told a call back within 2 hours. This was at 17.44 on Sunday 11th December. Its now 00.40 on Monday 12th and still no call. Given the weather and impending strikes a&e isn't an option but to be sat waiting and provided false information is terrible. I was reluctant to call as when I used the service last year, the call back came at 4am and I was told to go to hospital as it may be a blood clot on my brain from a covid jab (clearly wasn't) and the time before whilst going through a miscarriage the doctor was awful, no compassion or care and the time between speaking with a nurse/consultant and then the doctor was around 10 hours. What is the point in having this service. I have tried to use it in hope 3 times since 2019, so not over use, and have never once had a good service. I will not use again, nor refer others. This unfortunately means a&e will have to deal with the problem. The whole system is a shambles, not just this service, and the lack of care is appalling. What is the point in any of the services if you don't manage and make things worse

Review titled Dreadfull

I rang 111 at 10pm on a Saturday evening as my child, under 5 had suspected strep a. It is now over 24 hrs later and I still haven’t had a call back, after being told it would be 2 hours and when I asked if I should take my child to a&e I was told to wait for the doctor to call. Thankfully my child is ok. I do not trust to calling 111 again, so will in future I will take my child to a&e.

Booked a nurse call at 607pm on Saturday was told will be within the hour eventually called back at 2040 to then say the gp will call back all the while my daughters temp is creeping to above 40. It's now 3pm Sunday and still haven't heard anything. My daughter is still unwell and now unsure what to do for the best.

Review titled Still no call
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 11 December 2022
Filled out the online form was told I needed to speak to a nurse who would call within 2 hours, as the website stated if no call back to ring, so waited 4 hours in total and called 111, then waited on hold for 50mins to be told a call would come through in 2 hours so that would be 6:30pm at that time when I still didn’t get a call I decided we couldn’t wait any longer and drove my 11year old to our local minor injuries unit and was seen within 20mins! Still no call back now which is nearly 12 hours later so doubt I’ll ring 111 again as they’d probably have only sent us down there anyway! All seems a bit pointless and a waste of time…

Review titled Awful pain and no support
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 10 December 2022
I have been on the phone since 10am. Its now 12 14pm. I have hurt my hip and struggling to walk. I have 3 kids 12 and under so cannot take them to A&E as they may pick up another infection. Don't wish to call 999 as there are others that maybe in a life threatening situation. I don't know what to do. My pain is awful. Whilst sitting or standing. Nobody is answering my call and I am extremely upset. Don't know what to do. Very dissatisfied

After an hour on hold to 111, someone put the phone down on me for my little girl! You get told to ring 111 but what is the point if they just cancel your calls, Absolutely appalling.

Review titled 111 is useless
Rated 1 star out of 5

Phoned 111 after daughter had a temperature of 39.5 and was feeling very unwell. Were told to await a call back from a nurse. 12 hours later and still no call. How can this be right, especially for a child? Awful service and this is supposed to ease the pressure on a+e! Nhs feels broken.

Review titled Nobody answers
Rated 1 star out of 5

My son has very bad covid fever. I was trying to call them multiple times, waiting for longer than an hour. Nobody answers. 999 says that is not urgent, GP and A&E don't consult by phone and redirect to 111. The service doesn't exist
