Review titled Excellent care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Ruth - Posted on 20 October 2024
I visited Prime Endoscopy on the 18/10/2024, I had the best care I have ever received. From the moment I arrived, the man on reception was polite and welcoming, the admitting nurse was very kind, friendly and informative, she put me at ease as I was very anxious. The nurse walked me through to the unit, where a male nurse put my Venflon in ready for sedation, he was extremely professional, I didn’t feel a thing, he was also fun and friendly and I even had a little laugh, despite being very nervous. I was collected and taken through to the procedure room where they performed the colonoscopy, the man was calm and informative, the process was quick and relatively pain free, although I did have sedation and pain relief. Whilst undergoing the Colonoscopy a nurse who’s name I have forgotten was kind and reassuring, she monitored my blood pressure and offered me gas and air, which I had consented for but didn’t need. Following the procedure results were shared with me and I was wheeled to recovery. I was met in recovery by the same male nurse, who brought me tea and biscuits and a warm smile. My venflon was then removed, I was given a printed report and discharged to the care of my friend. Also, every member of staff introduced themselves by name, but unfortunately cannot use names in this review. I cannot praise this service highly enough. Thank you.

Review titled Professional Team
Rated 5 stars out of 5

To need a colonoscopy can be an anxious and worrying time. I want to say coming to Prime Endoscopy set my mind at rest. Everybody was helpful, reassuring. Explaining everything about the test clearly and giving time for you to ask questions. Through out the test, good communication and caring and professional attitude. I felt at ease and there was no anxiety. The decision for me was to have sedation and though you are aware of what’s going on, you are relaxed and spoken to with respect and understanding. You’re given lots of explanations after the test and given information to go home with. This really helps to make you feel listened to and you can continue to ask questions and get them answered straight away. I would recommend this department and all staff were excellent.

I really struggled with anxiety prior to my colonoscopy. All of the staff were so extremely supportive, they helped to calm me down and took their time with me to explain the whole procedure and to support me. I was completely reassured the whole time and had a really great experience thanks to all of the staff.

The team who examined me today were very professional and thorough and looked after me very well. In particular the nurse who monitored me and the consultants carrying out the procedure were very good, continually reassuring me as they progressed the examination. In all a very good experience which also demonstrates how fortunate we are to have access to these services through the NHS.

Review titled Excellent service
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I underwent a gastroscopy procedure on Friday 10th May 2024. I had previously undergone a similar procedure in 2016 but on that occasion had been sedated so had little recollection. From the receptionist, to the admissions nurse, the team carrying out the procedure and finally the discharge nurse everyone was friendly and professional and explained all that would happen. I elected to have local anaesthetic and the procedure was carried out with only minor discomfort. Having had the local anaesthetic I was discharged fairly quickly after the procedure with the outcome having been explained to me accompanied by a hard copy with those results. Thanks to all at Bristol Prime Endoscopy for making the whole procedure as stress free as possible. I should also mention that my appointment was at 08:50 and I was discharged by 10:10 hours.

Attended for an endoscopy today, I was very nervous but all the staff were amazing! They put me at ease and reassured me throughout. The whole team should be proud of themselves you could not ask for better treatment.

Review titled Very painfull
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Kevin Barrett - Posted on 29 January 2024
Arrived early, very nervous, to make matters worse they were running 40 minutes late, even the reviews had 78% of late treatment. Staff were lovely all the way through. I was promised enough sedation as to feel very relaxed, it did not happen. I knew everything that was going on, and felt every twist and push of the camera. This was my third time for an endoscopy, my first here and by far the worst. Never again will I let them near me.

Review titled Negative follow up
Rated 2 stars out of 5

I attended for an endoscopy to check pm unexplained bleeding. The admissions staff and endoscopist were brilliant, could not fault. However, despite being told that there was a very nasty looking polyps which required 4 biopsies and needed an urgent referral to the lab taking no more than a week, after nearly 4 weeks I and my doctor are still waiting for the results. My doctor has chased them up and I tried phoning twice but all you get us a recorded message telling you to leave contact details and they would get back to you. I heard nothing so sent them an email. Again, heard nothing which suggests they are not interested. Very concerned and worried as I have had to be rushed to hospital by ambulance with symptons to my stomach so results would be extremely useful in identifying the problem.
